oops!!! Here ya go! My 80 that I'll be picking up when I finally get home. The guy I bought it from started his own modifications. Seemed like a perfect bike to finish with my own touches.
I'll post Rented Mule when I get home.

Not looking forward to the snow though.

Thanks for the comments, I was concerned that being a bitza it might not be appreciated on here.

pggg, because the shaft rotates the opposite way to a car, I've rebuilt the middle gearbox with the drive bevel gear on the inboard side of the box. There are some details on my site which show how I went about it. The XS driveshaft has been welded into the car propshaft to join the whole lot together.

I've done a few hundred miles on it now and apart from an oil leak which I'll sort out this winter it all seems OK.

Just a quick question someone on here may be able to help with. On the back of the crankcase under the middle gear box there is a small lump, possibly to lever the cases apart, can I grind it off? it would make life easier!

          Any help would be appreciated.

Trike, is this that bump you mean?

I too have eyed it up for for some grinding as removing a few mm's from it can give some space to fit a 14T sprocket in there. (for a chaindrive setup). Case walls are 6mm thick, the left side seems to be safe to remove, dunno whats beneath the right side though. Not an issue for my setup as only a couple of mm needs grinding from the left side of the bump as well as few mm down lower on the case.

P.S. have you a link to your drivebox mods?

              pggg,

Yes that's the lump, I could really do with losing that, so that my modified middle gearbox clears better. I think my oil leak is caused by the box not bolting up completely because it's caught on that lump.
It may make more sense if you see http://www.trikenest.freeserve.co.uk/yam2.html near the bottom of the page.
              Thanks for your help.

We're in danger of hijacking this thread should we move elsewhere?

Trike, nah, these dudes are cool. Just checked out your pics of reversing and re-building shafts, splines, cogs et... - wow - makes my own chaindrive conversion look like easy trivial stuff.

                  Hey Trike,

It's neat, but what do you do for reverse? Is that an Armstrong Reverse? I had an old Plymouth Valiant (The Prince) in high school that had lost reverse. You either parked on a hill or had a few mates to help you out.

                    pggg,

Praise indeed!, I was well impressed with your chain drive conversion.

                    Bluejeeplab,

I carry a small boy, useful for all sorts of things as well as pushing. Nah seriously there's no reverse, the Trike's not that heavy, it's got a small turning circle, and you soon learn to park so that you can drive out.

                        Trike

Great lookin' trike Triker. Looks like you made your own triple trees and jockeyed the fork angle for less trail? Or are those off another bike. How's it steer? I've heard that many trikes tend to wobble at high speed.

                          xs650mike,

I bought the triple trees (yokes) off a mate and bored them out to fit H*nda VF750 forks. The rake was altered by dropping the rear of the frame as I didn't want to mess with the headstock. There's an awful lot of stress around there on a Trike. This actually increases the trail and lessens the tendency of the front wheel wobble. There's no steering damper fitted so it must be about right, I wouldn't ride it "hands off" though.
There are no apparent handling problems up to 85 mph, which is quick enough for me.

Finally able to post "rented mule". Nevermind the name on the side. Had to change the name due to witness protection...oops. Did I say that out loud?
