There probably was something in the fine print about our photos and videos being their property.

      Bulk download update

Okay, went to the website, didn't find a CONTACT US link, but did check out the FAQ's and such, and came across this page of instructions about downloading ALBUMS.

Clipped just the later portions after the Captcha stuff!
Validate that you are a human by sliding the arrow.

Next, all of the images in your album will be gathered and compressed into a .zip file. The next page you'll see will prompt you to download the compressed file.
NOTE: If you have a lot of images, it may take a little while to compress. We'll notify you via email when the file is ready to download. Make sure your current Photobucket account is updated with your current email address. Click here to learn more about changing your email address.
After downloading the compressed file to your computer, unzip it and view your pics. NOTE: You may need a 3rd party utility to decompress the .zip file. Click here to learn more.

Note: Currently, this feature only works with images. Your videos and gifs will need to be downloaded individually. Click here to learn more about individually downloading media.
Now, I haven't checked my personal email today to verify the status of any "Ready to download album/file" message from PB.

Now, with regards to this process for OTHER than my own account, not sure if it will work, or if they will send the email to the OWNER of the album??? I WAS logged into my account prior to viewing Steve's photos/albums, will check and let you all know!

I always get the download 'bar' that appears to complete too, error banner at the top of the page or not.

I've read that FAQ too and I think it's an out-dated answer. If it still worked that way I should have several dozen e-mails with links to ZIP files so they've changed something or it's badly broken.

          Hey Scott,

Okay, they probably removed that feature, because in their OFFICIAL statement about their policy changes, I found this about downloading our photos!

          5. Can I download my Photos?

Absolutely, at any time. It is an easy four step process:

Step 1. Login to your Photobucket Account

Step 2. Navigate to your library page

Step 3. View a photo and click the download button

Step 4. The picture will be saved to your computer
So...looks like we can ONLY download each photo separately!

Well, I found an EMAIL address,

            advertise@photobucket.com

It's for Advertisers, but I wrote to it anyways, not sure if they'll forward it to any IT/Help section, or just delete it? I asked about the bulk/album download feature, described what it does and doesn't do, and whether they have turned OFF/disabled that feature as part of their updated TOS? Hopefully they will reply so at least we'll know where we stand and won't keep trying to utilize a non-functioning feature. However, if they didn't deactivate it, then they hopefully will notify their IT/Tech dept to fix it???

                  Photobucket Solution?

I saw this on one of the Honda V4 Forums:

                  https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...fegnfnflicjjgj

Allegedly it casn be used to fix the Photobucket problem by redirecting the links.

Looks like you need to have Google Chrome to make it work. I use my work computer for everything; it has Internet Explorer, and I am not allowed to modify it.....so if this is a solution maybe I have to involve my wife's laptop.

Maybe one of our computer gurus could check out this solution and report back.
                  -Mike

                      It Works!!

Outstanding work Mike! You get my vote for 2017 MVP (Most Valuable Post)

I have Google Chrome installed as a browser option...clicked on the link you posted, download took only a couple seconds, and it appears that all the photos are visible again in all the threads. I, too, was thinking that Photobucket had single handedly destroyed what so many have built over the years on this great site. Time will tell if it's a permanent fix. Haven't tried to post any new pics using PB so maybe this link just allows us all to view pics posted previously?

There must be more to it than that as I get exactly the same as I do on Firefox. Possibly some settings or even making it the default browser or whatever. I will keep trying but Chrome with add on makes no difference on mine.

                              Firstly,

Hey Mike, Thanks, that worked on MY Chrome also, using Win10. It enabled me to then click on the photo in the thread/tip, visit PB directly and SAVE the original photo to my HD. I then reuploaded them to the XS11.com server where the tech tip photos are. Then I got the NEW URL/Link for each one, then went to the tech tip and edited the links with the new URL, and NOW they are visible with ANY browser again. Steve had made alot of tips and photos, so I've got my work cut out for me to update them with the photos, but I'll get working on them. Here's the edited tech tip for your viewing tests, it's just about the brake pads on a special, was the 1st one I came to.

Ras, Did you actually ADD the Add-on extension into Chrome? Next, the info said that you may need to CLEAR your browsing history/cache in chrome before it would use the new info and make the new links!?

T.C., It's folks like you that make the world go around. Bless your soul for whatever you manage to get done.

I was able to get Chrome on my work laptop, and now I can answer questions for others that might be curious.

                                (1) How to do it? Open your Chrome browser, go to the site https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...fegnfnflicjjgj, and click on the "add extension" icon/button in the top right-hand corner. You're done. Takes a few seconds.

                                (2) Can I see all the pictures, not just the pictures in my posts? Yes, You are able to see all the Photobucket pictures in everyone's posts.

                                (3) Do I have to use the Google Chrome browser? Yes, until TC makes some fixes on the Tech Tips, none of the Photobucket pictures are visible using another browser besides Chrome.

                                (4) How long will this work? Nobody knows yet.

I was curious about these questions, so I hope it helps.
