I totally understand, Ben, it irks the heck out of me too. Someday when I have my own Internet that sort of thing won't happen.

      Hey, Ben..

Swamp Thing looked great with that fairing. ..Last time I saw it, Randy was still riding it with the small windshield. .

BING "ceramic exhaust coating", and go from there. There are a number of different brands.
Most of the coating outfits don't like to do used pipes, so check first with them.
Some will clean the inside before coating, and some won't.
Some of the brands have a faux chrome, which looks good, but does tend to dull a little at the points that the chrome pipes usually blue. I think the pipes I dealt with were done by Jet Hot. https://www.jet-hot.com/

              Yeah,
all the photos I've posted here in the past have been sent via my photobucket site but what are we to do now that site has drowned in it's own fecal matter?
XS650.com let's me download photos from my own computer.
(The hard part was learning how to get 'em copied from my phone)
Surely if that site can do it, so can this one?

The stuff I used way back when my Mac pipes were brandy new went inside the pipe to insulate the outer pipe from inner heat.
That's what I want to find again.

Well, you could go the route I did and buy your own domain, hosting service, and storage. I host all my own photos.

Well, not quite. The photos I post here are hosted in my domain but some of the photo galleries and video clips on my site (appleattic.net) are hosted by Cincopa.com.

The rally web pages are hosted on my domain as well. I contract for 50gb of traffic a month, usually come in far lower than that. Storage space for photos and videos is unlimited under my plan but there is a cost for all of this; total comes to a couple hundred a year for domain registration (Network Associates), site hosting (iPage.com), and storage via Cincopa.com. I still figure it is worth it.

Jerry, I don't really do enough photography or anything else to justify the cost of setting up and maintaining my own domain. I'd probably just lose or forget the admin password and lock myself out of my site anyway.

I seriously rethought that decision when I dropped Frackr like a hot potato after their new reader robot ran amok while scanning every image on their site, even the ones their TOS should have exempted. The program was repeatedly tagging and retagging concentration camp photos as "playground" and black people as "ape" or "monkey" along with a few other even more hilarious little faux pas after they were supposedly manually removed by the staff with their profuse apologies. There is at least one sick puppy on their IT staff.

Meh, I have until 2019 with Photobucket to decide what I'm going to do.

Yes, I wanted a blog page and a place to put photos for family and friends to view. This way I have pretty much complete control over the files that get posted on-line. Not interested in wider distribution - blog page is mostly hidden from search engines - but I add photos to my (usually weekly) blog posts so the number of photos I have on-line continues to increase. Now up to around 2,600 for the 6 years I have been blogging. Plus it gives me a place to put galleries and play with HTML code. For me the investment in having my own domain and hosting service is worth it and is fun in its own right.

Side benefit is that I can put together rally pages without a lot of hassle; have done several over the years and enjoy doing it. Also helps justify the cost to SWMBO...

I especially liked how PB sends you the notification of their site's policy changes via a "noreply" type email.

Then, going to PB's site and searching yields no way to contact them, or message them. You can buy things from them, though...

Smart move on their part, I guess.

I can only imagine the massive amounts of angry responses from users to this policy change.

There may be costs involved for 3rd party hosting, but I believe they've been profiting from companies who've ran ads on their site, too. The onslought of pop up ads had almost made PB useless anyway. It had gotten to be rediculous trying to use it the past couple of years.

Oh well, it is what it is. I figure PB will go the way of the buggy whip soon because of their decision, unless competition causes them to re-think their mistake. Reminds me of a certain national cellular company that recently announced they would no longer offer unlimited data plans.
3 months later, after lots of customer defections, they had a change of heart!
(Especially after none of their competitors joined their bandwagon!)

Everything I have ever posted is gone, is Imgur.com working for those that have tried it?

All of my pictures on photobucket came from other sources that I have saved so I'm not really jonesing on it. But it stinks for some threads and keeping them relevant or useful.

I wish those dumbasses would have left previously posted pics alone and charged for new postings. I could live with that. To replace over 600 pics on this site and other would be an insurmountable task.
