    To carry on original statement,

The ST1100 was killed as nearly as I was.Now reduced my ride to my Schwinn step-thru electric scooter.......just for balance and vertical re-calibration. Gotta prepare correctly and 'wisely for the 735lb. XS Venturer 1100.
81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

I would like to try a long distance ride at least once just to say I did it. You would have to slow down a little so I could keep up.

My ST1100 weighed in @ 730 lbs...and is top heavy... I always referred to it as the big red pig...however that weight translates to excellent stability and smoothness out on the roads...an upgraded rear shock improves handling immeasurably... I'm not convinced that the Venturer weighed in @ 735 lbs...but then again I have never owned one nor have I ever ridden one....I did move yours Mike in that parking lot last year and while it did feel heavier than my XS it didnt feel like it was that heavy...

Really?..........I have a pair of every model HippoHands CraigVetters brother produced, even one still new in original packaging........that makes five pair

The Ventureer's ACTUAL true weight with half a tank of fuel is 680lbs. The ST1100 with a half of tank of fuel is 730lbs..

                      where this year

I've been to Oklahoma (of course), Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas. I may have touched some other states and not even noticed.

I only regret I haven't been to Arkansas this year..........yet.

Never a serious problem with the bike except it hated elevations over 8000 feet.

Where have y'all been this year?

This year, I rode to FL (twice while it was still cool weather -winter in GA)
                      New York for XS East
Michigan for Lost in the UP (Stopped in Iowa to see Bob who is recovering from neck surgery and dreaming of riding next spring)
GA and NC for some nice day trips. Many short rides to grocery store.

Most riding this year for me is on newest bike (under warranty). Even with that and a nearly year round riding season, I have not matched Greg's mileage. Bike works OK on road but there have been several little recall repairs done by dealer and each month on payment day...

                      Ride when you can.
It is a great big beautiful world out there

To be fair, I was counting all the states I passed through on the way to other destinations too Brent.

You need to get out more.
