I love my 11 but ya gotta admit this one's a beaut.
Living to EXcess.
1978 XS1100E Canadian, Cartridge emulators, NOS heavy duty fork springs,
Showa rear shocks, ACCT, Jardine 4-2 spaghetti pipes.
1979 XS1100F Canadian, stock exhaust. Top end rebuild in progress.
Kaw made a 500 ring dinger way back when that was faster than a scalded dog but you couldn't keep the front end on the ground.Mach maybe?
They also made a 750 with the same problem, the 750 was dubbed the widowmaker. My dad had one, but sold it to get money for a 52 Panhead. I probably exist because he did that

I had one of those, decided to sell it after my son was born. It was an ex-race bike that my neighbor found in a barn. Lots of mods and very scary to ride. The story goes that it had lived up to the widowmaker name with the PO.
Wish I still had it... probably be worth ten times what sold it for.

Ride safe,

Rode both the MachI and MachII quite a bit.......just as well you didn't Larry, handling was lacking bad enough that they were even a handful at the strip on the big end with their sub 12sec. times.
81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.
Everything about my Mach III was modified for road racing, including the frame. The front suspension had stiffer springs, a fork brace and steering damper. Rear shocks had been changed also. The PO had added a second disk up front, drilled both rotors and added SS braided lines. It stopped quite well. I don't really know how well it handled. I never went that fast through the corners do to its wanting to touch the sky, or spin the rear tire when the power band hit.
