We all know the risks when we get on our bikes and ride ...

But that doesn't make it any less horrible to hear of a fellow rider and XSive having an accident.

Don, I'm praying for you and I hope you have a full and quick recovery. It sounds like you are going home soon, which is great news!

Just had a really nice conversation with Don ... he seems to be in good spirits and is looking forward to going home (TOMORROW) and to riding again!

Don, it was a pleasure speaking with you ...

Before you know it, you'll be done with rehab and back in the saddle again!

            See you on the forums!

              Don:

Just like the voices of the others, saddened to hear about it.

Hopefully you are home today, and encouraged that it gets better and better from here on out.

I think about it before/when I ride. I am cognizant that a deer could jump out and change my day instantly, or a inattentive driver, or my own inattentiveness.

Hopefully you are not stuck in the mind games..."would have", "could have", "should have"....it just happened however it happened.

So glad you are going to be OK.
              -Mike

                    Thank You All !!!!!

Bike is home makes me sick to look at what I did to it. HOW ? Car lights coming around a corner ahead, 8pm. I know this road well, when the cars lights came into my eyes everything but the lights went black. I aimed more to the rt. to avoid the car, the car passed and instantly I saw the ditch from a crossroad 20 ft. ahead of me at about 35mph., grabbed and stood on the brakes (the new ceramic pads had worn in real well, working great), how much they slowed me ? This was the second time that car headlights had blinded me 1st time was on a straight. Should of thought of the new clear safety glasses I had on for the first time at night causing this and thrown them in the ditch. I think the light was bouncing back and forth from the glasses to the face shield ?
I'm still here and the bike will either be fixed or the steering head chopped off and welded to Partzilla my parts bike with good frame. Some views of the crash site.

Having just seen this, i am glad you are out, and healing. I know they told you that breathing is important, but like TC said, it is important for other health reasons as well. After my surgery, i could not walk and talk at the same time for about two weeks. It is weird, but it will all come back. Get well soon, get the bike fixed, and back on the road.
