I have been working on this SG for a while now. Come across A LOT of rusty stuff on this bike. It is almost like it sat in a humidor for all those years instead of a garage.
Well, I wanted to clean some parts before descaling them. Put them in my ultrasonic cleaner, turned the heater on, max out the time setting. Come back the next morning, left them soak for the night, and I am telling you the rust is almost gone completely. Seems to wipe off the parts. I did not get pictures because, well, I did not expect this result. I took my fuse box mounting plate, that holds the solenoid, flasher, and the fuse box. It had rust in several places, you could run your finger over the rust and have a brown finger tip. Dropped it into the Pine-sol USC, and come morning, the metal is slightly discolored, but all the rust and crust is GONE. Its like I found the chief ingredient in Metal Rescue!
