Greg, if you're going to swap out those lights I'd move them lower in the space available and even install a 'heat shield' over the plastic. You're adding quite a bit of heat, hate to see you melt those lenses..
Unless of course you're using LEDs....Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

Looks like you have just enough room for ice too. Dont forget to drill a small drain hole!

Storage

Storage: I can get a 24 pk. in EACH saddle bag [keeps the weight balanced lol] AND a 30 pk. cube in the top trunk, all in their unopened boxes.
I personally think that the new saddle bags in this thread are good looking, and as mentioned, the price/shipping can't be beat.
Also as mentioned, it would be great to have a "how to" installation instructions with pics for the XS owners.

Those look to be about the same size as my Shoei's, maybe just a hair smaller.
How thick is the plastic?
How's the finish? Will it need paint or can it stand alone? (maybe with some wax?)
Does the lid flex much?
The lead for the light is loose about in there, I'd find a way to see if you can secure that down the length of the lid toward the hinge and then down to the bottom then thru the side (with a grommet) to plug up to the bike's harness. I've seen 'H' clips with double sided tape then you can zip tie the cable to the clip. JAT.Hi, my name is George & I'm a twisty addict!

The finish is a nice gloss black enamel and looks good. As for durability, we'll see.
The plastic is about 1/2 the thickness of regular bags and does flex a bit more but again, not actually bad for the price. I've been pondering ways to reinforce around the hinge screws and the mounting bolts. Most definitly large flat washers will be installed.Greg

A point in my sidecar's favour is that I can fit ten 12-packs in it (or twelve if I take the seat out) with the tonneau snapped down so the cops can't see them.
Also, a sidecar can be a serious chick magnet.

Haha! So stoked--I'm pulling the trigger on these babies tomorrow!
Getting the bags, lids, fender, lights, and all. I'm running 39" Cholo pipes on there, and only the fishtail will stick out!
It'll fit a couple thirties, or maybe even a piano! Or maybe even the flame thrower concept I'm working on...
Sorry for the hijack...but it's kinda related.Healthy is merely the slowest rate at which you can die
Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better. I’ve always believed this, in spite of the trouble it’s caused me. alas for your plan, even those big buckets won't fit a piano.
For that you DO need a sidecar
