I've been doing a few changes to ol' okie and I'm looking for a little input.......

I put the stock fender and grab bar back on with a seat from a MNS and took off the skidmark seat and tall sissy bar........

Took off the Howe Kutter fairing and put on a Vetter Windjammer V. (I need some lowers for this by the way)

Also, the rear turn signals look a little wierd with this setup and my leather soft bags are getting a bit weathered so I've been looking at this set of universal hard bags with lights built in..

I am also looking for a luggage rack to fit an 80 81 special so I can put a trunk on there.
So, tell me how much you hate/love my ideas.

Cool hard bags; you'll have some fab work to hang them, but they should look sharp once they're on...

        Who sells those bags?

I found them HERE on fleabay.

They come with some universal brackets and I have some regular brackets for an XS so I figure I can McGiver something pretty decent out of the two. What I really like is the integral lights. I can lose the lightbar off the back.

            HiGreg,
Ask BikerPhil for pictures of the bracket he designed for his bags.
I think it will easily adapt to yours.

If you wish to avoid eBay, I found their website.

              T-Motorsports

Those bags look similar to what MLew has on his Special.

                Hi Greg,
I don't like fairings and I think hi-back seats are ugly but that's my own prejudice speaking. If you think the replacements look better, go for it.
OTOH, those hard bags look to be a good idea.
If the hard bags integral lamps are stop/tail and you are going to wire them turn/tail instead, NAPA sells a 6 lamp to 4 lamp trailer adapter for ~$20 that will let you connect them as turn/stop/tail lamps instead.
And if you ain't keeping the rear mount signal rail as part of your parts stash,
                gimmie a price on it?

Well Fred, I don't like sidecars or the color orange either so at least we can agree to disagree.

I was planning on making thos lights in the bags turn signals and hopefully figure a way to make them running lights also but they are single circuit lights so I don't know what I can get done there. Exta brake lights would be a good thing.

I think I have a couple more of those light bars in tha garage, I know of at least one but the mount is bent. I'll look and get back to you.

I like the idea Greg,I was thinking of the same set-up except for the seat. The only thing I don't like is that the lights are not running and brake lights.I almost think you could put 1157 socket in where the single pole socket is with alittle work.Mine is set up mostly, except the hardbags.Let us know how it goes, with pic's of course. By the way,I need lowers for a vetter 4 if anybody has any there looking to get rid of.Thanks

I don't understand why everyone dislikes the high back seats so much. When you have someone on the back they don't have to hang on fore dear life if you throttle it and it's like having an extra trunk when you pack up for a trip..

And if it's packed right you've got a back rest that comes in real handy after 10-12 hrs in the saddle.

Logically it's great for travel, but I just don't think it fits the geometry of the bike.Imho. I like a trunk with a back rest much better.I guess it;s to Easyrider for my taste,I'm more of a hardbag-trunk kinda guy.You can load up the back seat and use a web and bungie's and get the same effect for a backrest.

Always liked that style of seat from when it first came out as a Yammy accessory back in the day. Definitely a multi-use seat for a naked XS11. Goes well with the rest of bikes styling. It's all good Greg, passanger portion on my Venturer gets used regularly stackin' up stuff against the tailtrunk/ backrest for a highback lounge chair.
