I had a recent opportunity to test ride the GL1800 Goldwing...It was a very interesting experience...handles way better than you'd expect for something this huge...it can look intimidating but its very well balanced with the horizontally opposed 6 cyl engine...the GL1500 is also a flat 6...they even have a reverse gear...and creature comforts that will spoil you from the initial first ride...Power and handling will really surprise you...Originally posted by natemoen View Post

Looks like it would be at home on the great American highway.
The 1200 Gold Wing I had (similar set up with trunk, bags, and even a trailer hitch...) was the most "comfy" ride I ever owned/rode.
Don't rule out it's slow speed handling either.
I took and passed my ALT-MOST Driving test on a Full dress Gold Wing.
(Oddly enough, the only one in our testing group who didn't pass was a rider on a Suzuki 250..
)
