Used to have a Ford F 100 with a 232 6 banger. The valve cover would fill up with a yellow foamy sludge running Penzoil. Mobil cleaned it out.

Read that test via another forum this spring, didn't catch this thread until today.
I ran the specified two stroke oil in all my vehicles through the summer, at 1 oz per 5 gallons. Can't say I noticed any improvement in fuel economy or otherwise. However from the test, I do believe it is minimizing/elimination the effects of ethanol on the fuel system, and that is enough for me to keep using it.Howard

Any Conclusions
Been a while since this went around. Just wondering if anyone has anything like long term evidence that it helps.

Willing to Try It
I will try it and see. I did notice that the Pennzoil Marine 2 is no where near $10.00/gallon as he suggested - more like $25.00/gallon.

I tried it for a few months and saw no noticable change in MPGs, but I did see a little better throttle response. I think that was due to the internal parts of the carbs getting a little lube.Hi, my name is George & I'm a twisty addict!

Two stroke Oil
I have been using this 2-stroke oil for a about 3 months. The plugs look really clean and my bike seems to run really well at 70,000 miles. Only uses about a half pint of oil in 2,000 miles between oil changes. I keep 2- 5 gal. cans filled with gas and the oil added and just gas up at my place. It is cheap at Wal-Mart. I am going to keep up with it for at least the rest of the season and check the plugs then. So far, so good.

Haven't notice much of an improvement in MPGs but that could be me too much on the throttle.
I've got to get my shims replaced and open up the valve clearances some, that might bring my compression up some and improve my MPGs some more.76 XS650 C ROADSTER

When this first popped up here I tried the Acetone in the gas of my 85 Toyota that has about 190,000 on the odometer. I did a bit of driving around and headed for home. It sat there for three or four days and I sort of forgot about it.
A lot of things were happening and I wasn't even thinking about it the next time I took off in the PU. I was clear across town when I realized the truck felt like it had "smoother" power if that makes sense. I paid attention to how it felt for a bit and then remembered the Acetone. The best way I can describe it would be that it felt like it had smoother acceleration and it felt like a bit more power. Which I suppose is the same thing.
I didn't pay much attention to it after that. You get used to how something runs pretty quickly. I guess that it made a big enough difference to notice after have been behind the wheel for as long as I've the truck.
I was interested in the claims that the 2 stroke oil lowered emissions when going through a smog test. I am wondering how putting "oil" into a emissions system would make it burn cleaner.
Maybe there is someone here who is licensed to do emissions tests that could shed some light on the subject.RIP Whiskers (Shop Boss) 25+yrs

Anyway, for anyone who might be interested in the use of acetone, http://www.pureenergysystems.com/new...00069_Acetone/
Unfortunately, the price of acetone has gone up along with the price of gas and beer, and cannot be bought cheaply.
Also, remember that acetone will soften a lot of plastics and rubber compounds, so think about what is inside your fuel system. (petcocks, hoses, etc)
In the small amount called for, it might not be a problem for a tank or two, after which you go back to straight gas. Anybody want to be a guinea pig, and let us know how it works out after a summers use?

Here is another site that touts the use of acetone, as well as other thinners.

Been running the two stroke TCW-3 in my bikes for over a year now. No discernible difference honestly in mpg, driveability.
But I have to believe the therapeutic benefits of coating the inside of the fuel system has to be beneficial in staving off E3 (Evil Ethanol Effects).Howard
