I Love My Buckhorn Bars. To all the new special owners, Try em ,you might like em. Everyone who tells new guys to dump them should make it clear everyone doesn't share their opinion. It's just your opinion.I have mine. something about cold dead hands comes to mind. Thank You

I kinda like them too. They "fit" ergonomically. Although, I can see why some would not like them, I surely do.

I didn't like them at all. They felt awkward and looked like ass. IMHO

Well how about this for fuel for the fire? I like my buckhorn bars and I like having the octy also....

I get that you don't like them because they feel awkward, but that other part....by all rights you should LOVE them.

I don't mind the octy either DuWayne. Its SEXEH!

I liked the looks but I felt the handling was compromised so I changed to some with slightly more spread.

              I ditched the octy quick.

No argument here SFer. I had standard bars on my SG when I got it and changed them.

The flatter bars give better control without doubt, but being an old fart that like I am I would rather be comfortable. I prefer to sit up and back.

Maybe not the fastest in the tight corners but fast enough.

I like the octy too!!!!! And now my Standard has them built in the petcocks!!!!!

Never had the buckhorns but do look awkward compared to what I'm used to.

The one thing the buckhorns did real well was give me the feeling that the grips would slip off on rapid acceleration!

I think the 79 seat is taller than the later models. Its true about feeling like you are riding an iron board. Might make the bars fit better when higher in the saddle. I know on my XJ they could never work the same because of the lower seat and bigger tank. Heck I even have to look up to see out of the mirrors.Still trying to love it. Not there yet.

What seat have you got? Original? Mine had a K/Q from PO. Made it set 2" higher than the seat I changed to.
