Did you buy a bike for and how much do you now have in it?

I got mine for $1600 ( I know, I dont know where yall are getting yours at, it was a solid bike though) And Im sure I have about that in it now, hardly anything visible though. Well nothing that really changed the look. Rear shocks,SS lines, brace and front discs are about all you can see.

I bought my 79 standard for $200 and I've spent about $600 on fixing it up. I figure I'm in to both my parts bike and my other 79 standard project bike about another $200 but after having bought and sold so much bits and bikes, it could be that they were free.

Lets see, first one I bought 1-1/2 years ago for $1000. Put $15 into a 750 FD, put $80 in carb kits, about $50 in parts for the 2nd gear fix, $80 for two SS brake lines , and $32 for petcock repair kits. So the total is....just under $1300. Currently being parted out after the wreck.

Second one I bought for $250. To date I have spent just under $650 putting it back pretty close to original. So a total of about $900 on it. A couple items to finish and it will go up for sale.

'80 soecial- $700 (cause it wouldn't start- was stored for years), which included extras like new helmet, cover, backrest, 4 into 2 header, fairing, new saddlebags---- then I bought the carb kits, slipstreamer, tires and coils....so that's about about $1200, I guess, and it looks and runs like it's new. I'm pretty jazzed with the whole deal-

              Total coast

I bought the first one (F model) for $350 and a park flyer airplane and put another $400 or so in it, then sold it for $1500 and bought the E model for $2000 and it was recently restored so no more cost plus it came with a trailer full of spare stuff. Only thing it needed was a 2nd gear fix. I did do a 750 final mod though.

$1500 for mine. So far only a pair of saddle bags and oil change. I am not crazy about the handlebars so they will be the next purchase, mabye a windshield also.

I just purchased a '80 xs1100 standard last Saturday for $600. Needed a new battery and the seat was torn up. Battery was $71 at a local bike shop, my uncle owns a upholstery shop and fixed the seat for me for $15. $9 for safety inspection, $40 for registration, title, and tax. I will probably replace the oil and filter before to long. Stoked on my purchase

My 78 cost me a whopping $60 (they only wanted $50 but all I had was twenties). Got it registered and on the road after another $400. Now maybe $2,000 into it.
The 80 MNS was $500. Another $600 for big bore kit. Maybe a thousand into it.

I paid $500 for mine, and over the last 21 months, I think I've put at least another $600 into it. I started out with carb kits, new tires, brake rebuild kits (master cylinder & calipers), a replacement rear master cylinder, new seat cover, tygon fuel lines, replacement clutch basket, new fuse box and a left side cover. I also added a rear rack and full Vetter touring package that I assembled from 6 different sellers.

That doesn't include the $400 or so I've spent on gear though. I got a bargain helmet and a fall/winter jacket as a gift, but I bought a mesh jacket and matching pants, winter and summer gloves, boots, and a nicer helmet on my own.
