OK, here is the second one I am looking into -

24000 miles, saddlebags included but not installed and some fairing with radio - I'd make it all into a naked UJM, so those are not of interest.

The backrest would have to go away as well. Crash bar, driving lights too, great eBay items (??)

      Any ideas on year?

      Fair value?

Appreciate that, just a little too far for me - but then again, for the right price, I could Amtrac down and ride back!

          Greetings UJM,

I wouldn't toss those crash bars too far from your bike. Those side cases are the first thing to take a beating if it goes over on its' side. You already know that though. I'll bet it's easier to push those bars back into shape than patch a side cover.....

I'm not certain on the year, but it looks like a '79 Std to me. Non-drilled brake rotors, and the back of the seat doesn't have the plastic cowling over it. If it runs well, and the tires are good, that's maybe a $1000 bike, give or take $500.

I'd hang onto those crash bars too. I only wish mine had come with them. The highway pegs on them make for a much more comfy ride in the summer too, when you can stretch out and feel the wind up your pant legs.

Don't know about fair value, but it looks like an 80G to me based on the side covers and then color scheme.

79's had a border around the decals, the 80's didn't, they were solid. In 80 only the special had slotted rotors, the standard had non-slotted rotors.
