Not only am I a newbe to this forum but I am new to XS11s. I have had a 1981 SX650SH since new and just bought a 1981 SX1100SH. I only wish I could make it run the way it should. When I got it, it was leaking gas from the fuel hoses (clear vinal and no clamps) and from the float bowls (dirty and OLD needles/seats). It also was getting intermittent spark to #1 Cylinder. I will try again this weekend. Can't wait to ride it.

Welcome aboard... Like you, I also had a previous XS, that being a 750 Triple... Loved that bike, although a bit much in the vibration dept. I too now have an 81 Special. Be sure to check the tech section, where you will find almost all the answers to your questions, and if not there, then just ask in the discussion section here, many knowlegeable people always willing to offer advice!

OK, Here I was a newbie to the list, I go on vacation (first trip to the Northwest) by air & rent-a-car due to a bum ankle caused by a motorcycle incident; I come home and find out the list is on its way out and the forum is in. OK, I love reading without all the clicking and waiting. Looking for someone to ride (sedately) with. Hope to be in shape for Ride to Work day next week.

Nice forum... we have sth similar here, but it's been running for two years now, so more posts and stuff... and it's not just XS related. Not in english, tho...

                      The forum:

I hope this one's gonna be at least as successful as that one. I met some great ppl there.

                        OK, fifth post... happy?
                        I am....
Look, mummy... five posts... can I go out and play cops and robbers with my 78E now? pleasepleaseplease PLEASE?
C'mon, mum... they never REALLY shoot (tested)...

OK, sonnyboy, just put the engine together first and don't forget to change the tires.. they're almost as old as you...

                        OK mum

...AND DON'T FORGET TO ASSEMBLE THE MIDDLE DRIVE BEFORE U GO OUT TO PLAY WITH THE COPS!

                        WHAT?

Never mind... it'll never start anyway....

                        YES IT WILL!

                        ....

OK, I'm a psyco... SO WHAT! I LIKE IT! Mwuhahahaha...

Seriously tho... cops have real guns and u shouldn't fool around (unless u have no licence, no registration, no purchase papers whatsoever and the bike was cheaper than the boots you are wearing and it's painted in a german WWII winter army colors) and u are 2 miles from home and the engine is making the same racket as a MG42 on steroids due the lack of exhaust, that fell off a few yards back...

                        ....

                        It's bedtime, son!

                        But mum....

No arguing... go wash your teeth and str8 to bed!

Can I have another cigarette, just so I can say bye to the new forum I've found on the net?

                        NO!

                        But it's the XS11 forum!

                        Oh... OK!

                        Thanx, mum!
OK, guys... have to go now... ride safe!

PS: I sure hope nobody out there took me seriously... except the MG42 and the cops chasing me part... that really happened. And the fact this is my fifth post.

                        ----------------------------------------------------------
He sat in a bar, his vision was alredy fuzzy and there was a pile of empty glasses on the bar in front of him.
The bartender was giving him the eye, but since he was the only customer that rainy April afternoon, he poured another one.
The bar door opened and Frank walked in.
                        He saw John and asked
                        John... what's wrong... u don't even drink!
John stared at his glass, didn't even look at Frank and muttered
my wife ran away with my best friend!
But John! said Frank... I'm your best friend!
John slowly turned around and his lips slowly stretched in a drunken smile,
                        not anymore... He is.
If it doesn't have an engine, it's not a sport, it's only a game.

OKAY, Gary! Here's post number 1.

Now that I'm officially registered and a little confused with this new format (so what's new?), I have a couple of questions.

One, what is the Buddy List?

Two, some have a picture of themselves or thier bike or their favourite cartoon character beside their posts. How did you do that? Did I miss something when I registered?

Three, what if anything do I need to know about VB Code?

Four, Message Icon? Where, when, why would I use this feature?

                          Questions, Questions I'll learn eventually.
                          Cheers,
                          Mark Robertson,

Check out the F.A.Q. at the top of the page. I think it will answer most of your questions.

Thanks Gary. I did go to the FAQ at the top of the page and yes it did answer some of my questions. I still don't know how to upload my picture to my personal posts. I added the but I would like to add a permanent picture.

                                Go to UserCP
                                Then to Edit Options
Scroll down to bottom where it says Avatar

I have done it once, but can't remember all the steps. I know there are directions on how to add the avator on the site. Thats how I figured it out. You upload a picture from your computer.
