The route is usually from Atascadero North on US 101 to Jolon Road, West to CA Highway 1, and South to the starting point. This will be an ALL DAY ride on Saturday. LoHo may have another plan, but it will probably be close. From the LA area, it's an ALL DAY ride up and back. You may be able to ride part way up with some of the SoCal riders. IF you can ride home at night, you may be able to ride up in the afternoon, meet everyone for dinner on Friday or Saturday, and ride home after.
Hope to meet up!Ray Matteis

If you only have one day, Saturday, it's a little more difficult and would depend on how comfortable you are leaving home before dawn to meet the group, then heading back home after dusk.
You listed yourself living in Glendale so:
~200 miles from Glendale up to the lake.
~200 miles for the group ride on Saturday.
~200 miles back to Glendale.
600 miles is a solid day trip and you can figure it'll be about 12 to 15 hours, longer if you're in Orange County.

Anyway, Glendale's in northern Southern California and only 35 miles away. The rally isn't until the middle of June and we've been trying to plan some shorter, local, SoCal rides. If you need help or just want to see if there's a local ride, speak up.

I'm IN!
That is, if we aren't scheduled for the annual trek to PA. SWMBO and I were talking about a trip to Central CA after she finishes with her March of Dimes efforts in May. (And if she can't make it, I'll come alone.)
With regard to the weather question: There were those brief showers necessitating a roadside costume adjustment. Going back to the mote at night, after dinner, was brisk, but bearable. It was, mostly, gorgeous.
I'm looking forward to hooking up with the San Diego contingent & 3-wire for the ride north. If SWMBO can make it, we may stay an extra couple of days for a northward probe.

I will try and make it
This is cool. I will be in LA, hopefully working during the month of June. My 79F lives in LA, and was purchased and ridden all around the country, out of LA. IF I happen to not be working that Friday, I would love to meet the group riding up for the weekend and have a good time. If I am working that Friday, i will try and make it up for Saturday and Sunday. This should be fun!

SWMBO is giving serious thought to coming down, predicated on whether there will be other SWMBO's. I seem to recall there are one or two. What is the current female count?
Don't think she can take the ride, so if she comes she will probably drive the van with her coveted air mattress in the back so that we can sleep in it, and get in on the group ride. Otherwise I'm going to need a to rent a campsite or share one.

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
I've been riding since 1959.

Plus one here too Ed. Gonna be there Thurs. afternoon after leaving home here bout 2-3am Thurs. Gonna try and make a run Fri. down to Morro as I remember that is a short run. She doesn't think her knees will take much more, so likely she may stay around the cabin unless the Friday test run works for her. She had knee surgury last year, so we'll see how it all goes.81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

Restorganize, hope you can make it, I'd really dig meeting one of the Texessives. Especially being an ex-patriot myself.
SWIMBO and I discussed it, and sad to say, she doesn't think she can make it.
For one thing our daughter will be arriving from an overseas trip on the 10th and will be expecting to work that week end. SWIMBO is a quick sketch artist and works the tourist on Fisherman"s Wharf in Monterey. Helana took to it like a duckling to water and can make good money on a Summer week end.
Looks like I'll be roughing it with a tent and sleeping bag. Do I need to pay upfront for a tent space? I am s-o-o-o looking forward to this!
