Ed, I have the same site reserved that I had last year. There should be plenty of room and I'm thinking about bringing the full-size tent this time instead of the micro bubble.

Well, I have work on Friday AND Sunday, so it doesn't look like I am going to be able to make the trip. I am excited about the work, but bummed about not joining the fun. Have fun.

              Scott,
Let me know the price on the group site. I'll be part of it this year as well. I'm STILL trying to get the carbs to work on the '79. I am now putting on a second set, and I'll see how they do. I am starting to wonder about #2 cylinder, as it keeps popping back, and #3 does NOT when I unplug the vacuum lines for the fuel. I think I'll need to do a valve check as well. Ed's bike NEEDS first and second gear, so that is also on my plate. I have a spare shaft/gear assembly, so I'll get it ready this week, and we will install it next weekend.

                I'm a DA

OK y'all, I'm a Dumb A**. I thought the party was THIS weekend. It is next weekend!!! YEAH!. Ok so right now, I don't have any work scheduled, so far, for that weekend, so, I think I can make it. I will borrow the equipment I need, and hopefully be able to meet up with some of you for the ride up from LA. Please let me know if I can join you and when. I am excited about this.

Ray, the site is ~ $27, maybe a couple of bucks less depending on how many people show up. I can run up north this weekend if you and Ed would like some help doing carbs and gears.

Judson, where will you be in Lost Angel-ease?

I'm in Simi Valley off of the 118 freeway and it looks like we're taking the coast north to the lake so where would you like to meet up with the group?

                      Scott,
Any extra help would be appreciated. I just found that my "spare" carb bank has a leak at the "T" for the fuel inlet on 1&2. Now I HAVE to get the first set fixed, so that may take a bit. We are going to try and get started on Ed's bike Saturday morning, about 9:00 to 1:00, and then finish it Sunday. I have a commitment on Saturday from 3:00 to about 7:00pm.
I will have a new tire mounted on my machine buy Thursday, so that is one less thing to get done before next weekend.

                        Ray,
I have spare carburetors I'm cleaning right now. What year do you need?
I've just been hit with the site bug. I'm using my mobile phone because I can't connect from my desktop computer.

                          Ok, OK,OK,

Looks like SWMBO will be coming after all. Circumstances change so fast it makes my head spin! Is there a cabin or a motel room someone who is willing to share? We'll pay half the rent, of course!
Then again maybe we will be invaded by Reptilian's from Trafalgamore, or WW3 will be declared and we will be wiped off the map with a nuclear blast from some unlikely source like Turkey, or the Rapture will occur and it will be reveled that Jesus was an XS11 rider and we will all be called to that final Rally in the sky where HE will pick up the tab for all the KOA campsites.
In today's world anything can happen!
I hope we all make it: it may be my last big ride for a while.
                          Special Ed
Old bikers never die, they're just out of sight!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
                          I've been riding since 1959.

                            Scott,
The carbs are for the '79 Standard I bought from planedick two years ago. I will look and see if I have any good parts in storage, and try to get the second set running. You'll have a place to stay up here, so don't worry about that.

Ray, I have a spare set of '79 Standard carbs and two spare sets of '80 Special carbs. They've all been 'played with' but I may have a good pair of fuel tees ... okay, it's Wednesday already so I need to get moving.
