        Raask
had light weight peg brackets too.

Having seen that pic today I started pulling some parts to get it road worthy.
This one will take a little more than the SF did.

        mro
Pretty weird. First pic was posted but did not show it's self.
Went back to da' bucket and tried agin and got the same result so did the third one which came up normally while first still a no show. Have not a clue why it's showing now

          Raask rear sets

I was disappointed with the quality of the casting but they work well couples with the Jota 'bars
since this was taken I've lengthened the side stand so no more block of wood

It is cool to see someone keeping up the cafe tradition! Here is mine:

It does not have a full cafe seat, since my wife rides from time to time. This style bike is the coolest. I just got back from a pilgrimage to the Ace Cafe in London a couple weeks ago. Things are alive and well there!

Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better. Thanks, Aussi. I have always liked the Brit cafe look, but it is hard to make the XS look like a Norton. Then I saw what you guys down there are doing, and the Austrailian bikes were more the inspiration for mine. I have admired yours for awhile!

Revisited this thread after completing another cafe conversion which is still in progress. Sold the first bike last year. Bought another 79 XS in October and I have been working on it over the last few months:

                      Cool

Not too radical but still "the look".

Dunno if I could ride no cushion though not at my age anyway.

I like the red number, really stands out.

Nice find. Damn, that's a third of the cost of the bike.

I'm doing 1 now ( or soon ). gonna go no fenders & utilize a fork brace.
Just gotta finish everything else first.
