Why put ANY of the models on the patch? Just use words to convey the classic nature of the "Family" of XS11 bikes all at once.
    1980 XS850SG - Sold
    1981 XS1100LH Midnight Special (Sold) - purchased 9/29/08
Fully Vetterized and Dynojet Kit added, Heated Grips, Truck-Lite LED headlight, Accel Coils, Irridium plugs, TKAT Fork Brace, XS850LH Final Drive & Black SS Brake lines from Chacal.
Here's my web page devoted to my bike! XS/XJ User's Manuals there, and the XJ1100 Service Manual and both XS1100 Service manuals (free download!).

Whether you think you can, or you think you cannot - You're right.

The problem with a MNS patch is,how many would buy one.
I would like a Special one.I already have a standard one.
But I would take one either way.

There are quite a few MNS owners, plus with it being the 80 MNS, not the 81, it'll be much more closer to the other specials, since it won't have the Swirly spoked wheels. I think most folks that have regular specials would be happy to purchase the MNS version, especially seeing from the last "other 30th anniversary patch" thread about how much work/hassle it is, getting the copyright permissions, the designs, colors, etc.! Not to mention putting the $$ up out front to place the order before any are sold!

I do think that OZZ or whoever communicates with Yamaha Corp, are on the up and up about what they tell them about "who" is wanting these patches. The Xs11.com folks are more than just a LOCAL club. They are being SOLD to members, but NO PROFIT is going to be obtained....one of Yamaha's stipulations on their copyright. If things are not divulged, and they find out different, then it could PREVENT any further permissions being granted for future patches......the XJ patch comes to mind!

I in no way communicated to Xsilerating my thoughts or ideas about the upcoming patch. I did suggest the same MNS theme in a private email to Ozz, along the same lines. I have an 81 special, but I proudly wear both of my 30th anniversary patches of the 78E, and will also get an XJ patch IF/WHEN one ever gets made. I will happily get this upcoming patch, whether it be an 80SG, or MNS!

              more than 1

you can figure that some folks will order more than 1 patch - 1 for a vest or jacket and maybe 1 for their passenger or their bike.

anyway - don't think moving 100 will be a problem.

Sorry everyone I kinda dropped the ball on this one. Life became a little hectic for a bit. Figures when you have a project you want to work on.

LoHo is down for three or four.
I was thinking...we have the generic biker-esque black and gold patch for the group (which I love), and the macho maroon with the "1"...how about using the dark silver/light silver theme the 80 Standard has as a basis for the patch?

                                Belinda,
As long as they don't plan on selling them to members then it's okay for them to use the logo. If they were planning to make money off the sale of the patches with the Yamaha logo then it would be a licensing issue.
The fact that they are asking seems to say they are on the up and up. So please ask them what their plans are.
Bob ... please correct me if I am wrong.

He would like a call back so they can move forward with designing/ordering patches.

What is the difference between club "board" members and "general" members? I think they think that these patches will be for a "club" that has "board" members as compared to the members of an on-line forum? To be clear with them you should likely make use of the paperwork TC has so there's no confusion that might have Yamaha second guessing when it's time for the 40 and 50 year patch's ...
