I'm sure as far as the non owner coming to pick up the bike, that getting written consent or something of that nature would work. and with the insurance it depends on the kind of insurance he had if he had full coverage then yes it's probably totalled if liability only then it's just a matter of the insurance company releasing it to the owner. which would come in a letter about a week after the investigation report from the insurance company is out. all in all we should be able to get it on a lift for him in about two weeks. if there is a donation setup i'm more than willing to chip in. i don't have much but whatever i can do. if there is gonna be a fixin up on his house while he's out, count me in for sure. i've got a fair bit of remodeling experience to assist with. all in all my best wishes for you (ivan) and your family.

I'd be willing to toss in some parts too.

When I was hit like that on my Guzzi, I had to replace a bunch of stuff but the frame was OK. I don't know if an XS frame is as tough. I was 26 when I was hit, if it happened to me at this age, I can't say if I'd go back to riding.

Just a note to say that the email you posted being fully underlined fooled me into sending to silverbackpreservation@hotmail.com because I didn't realise only the space was underlined and so thinking it was a typo made it one word, beware that it appears to be a real email so I had to cancel the donation and do it again let me know if it went thru please.

I have all the parts needed, and the place to do the work, all I need is to know when and were to go and get it. As for anything else his family needs, just let me know what I can do to help. Trbig has some great ideas, lets get the ball rolling as I am willing to help in any way I can. I'll even stop giving you so much sh#t about your whitewall! Get well soon big guy, you are in our prayers.

Terrible news! My best wishes to Ivan and his family. I'm just glad he is still with us, even if he is broken. Bones will heal.

When I read that the kid may have been on the phone my blood started to boil. That is probably my biggest pet peeve in life.
HANG THE F**K UP AND DRIVE!

That kid should be made to wait hand and foot on Ivan and help take care of his family the entire time Ivan is incapacitated. He should also loose his drivers license and cell phone since he isn't responsible enough to handle either one.

Hutchinson is about 12 hours away from me, but if there is a benefit ride organized I would do my best to make the trip.
I know this, because Tyler knows this.

                                ok

I can be the local contact if ya'll want me to. I used to work for the company that has Ivan's bike, so I will contact Mark (the owner) and see what it will take to get Ivan's bike home. The bike will probably not be released until the Sheriff's department finishes their investigation. At that point a buddy and I can stick it in my pickup and take it to Ivan's. It usually takes 2-3 business days for the insurance company to look at the bike and arrange to pay for towing and storage. Once that is settles, the car lot will let the bike loose.

As to parts, I have another '80 and a '79 we can glom parts of of. Until I can get the bike to Ivan's, dunno what parts we will need. I figgure that unless the frame is totally trashed, which it doesn't look like, it should be fixable.

As to funds for him and his family, since kat has set up an account, lets all dump some dinero into it. If you need to snail mail it, you can either sent it to her or me. pm me for my snail mail addy. Once I have anymore information, I will post it.

                                Thanks ya'll
