I hope the doctors rebuild him like they did Steve Austin. Then we could call him Bionic Silverback!

Damn...I gotta get on here more often. I kept seeing things on PMs from Russ, Kat, & company about Ivan, but I missed exactly what happened. Stupid teens on their phones...my teen daughter will be reading this thread (when she wakes up ).

Russ: count me in on the rebuild team...keep me posted. I've got a pretty complete F parts bike if needed, but it sounds like parts may be covered for Ivan's special.

    Get well soon, big guy!

I am pretty sure I have an extra set of signals if needed. They're not pristine and they aren't junk either but they will work.

i have searched 4 3 days now and still nothing its like they grew legs and walked away. but knowing me i put them down someplace here and have not just found them
As SOON as you have picked a replacement, they WILL show up!
I know this, as I just spent about 1.5 hours building a new battery hold down strap, and as SOON as I was done, the strap I'd spent 1.5 hours looking for just" popped up"!

wow i just got mine out of the shop and was planing on coming up to meet ivan for the first time next week. i would be glad to do a run next weekend or the week after. i am asking for someone to figure out something we can do for ivan. i understand for some its short notice. it would be nice to see a **** load of xs1100's show up to tha sleepy little town of hutchinson. well i will sign off for now please get a hold of trainz with ideas he has my number to get a hold of me to let me know what we going to do. 1 idea i would like to throw out here. someone to figure out what would be needed to fix his bike and do a repair party for it one weekend depending on what ivan would want to do. i know i have a spare tail light assby. lying here at the house that would fit his bike.
Trainzz i just left u a message on ur phone.

Ivan i am praying for u in ur time of need.

I truly wish I didn't speak on this subject first hand but unfortunately I've been through it too many times. If done well, he can make money on the bike but there is no amount of to cover the pain and injuries...

having just had a bike wrecked last summer ...

by a careless driver, my experience was much as Geezer described.

The comps will have to be EXACT year, make and model .... and area of the country comes into play. Be sure to print Craig's List ads as the links dissappear quickly.

The insurance company ended up paying me about a grand for the 'totaled' bike, about $500 for loss of use and the PI claim is still in process. My injuries were FAR less than Ivan's. I fixed the bike for a couple of hundred, then recently sold it for 1500 ... nearly breaking even on my total investment in the bike.

On the bright side for Ivan: his PI settlement will likely run into the tens of thousands and, as long as he recovers well, will probably be able get another XS11 to ride and enjoy ... hopefully with bucks to spare for his pain and suffering.
