Alright calm down. It looks like the second chance bidder's going to jump on it for $3500. I guess with the other deposit I got $3700.
What do you think? Should I let the other guy have his deposit back?

I think you fell in s**t and came out smelling like a rose . Glad it worked out - and $3700 - WOW! On the deposit - NOOOOOOO. How's that kid going to learn otherwise. If it hadn't been for number 2, you'd be working through the whole process again - and I doubt he'd loose a minutes sleep over it. I say let him learn a $200 lesson.

I wouldn't return it.People need to take bidding seriously. It takes time and money to do business on ebay, and it clearly states that if you bid and it is excepted then you are responsible. He will be far less likely to try that stunt again.

Nooooo on the deposit thing YES that you are able to sell it to a 2nd chance-er....I just "sold" my ST today but the high bidder just missed the reserve by $100 so I gave him a 2nd chance offer and he took it...he is coming from kentucky and flying into Philly on Sat and he is gonna ride it home..I am happy and sad all at the same time...guess i know how you feel too... BTW is the 2nd chance bidder depositing $200?

Definitely NOT! Rules are rules and, they apply to everybody, not just "the other guy". Ebay makes it very clear and, the majority of the listings specifically spell out that, if you bid and you win, you've just entered into a contract to purchase and, you are legally bound to complete that purchase.

What's that, young master who doesn't have the money...? You thought that only applied to "the other guy". Hahahahahaha hehehehehehehe, hohohohoho, hahahahaha (did I already say that?) Well, think what you like but, your little blunder just cost ya $200.00.

Garrett... keep the money, teach the little weasel a 'deserved' lesson and, add the cash to your overall 'take' for that splendid machine. JMHO

No. You put a lot of time and effort into creating that listing.

You have every right to that $200 and should not feel guilty about it. Remember that you did lose $50 by having to go to the 2nd chance bidder. If you do feel like you don't want all of it, you could always keep that $50, and then give the remaining $150 to your favorite charity. If you want to give the kid a break, give him a partial refund, not that he deserves any.

Bidder #2 made his deposit today. I believe he has it all tied up. Looks like this is it. I'll dive into the project this summer and try to forget about it.

Ok, Betty is gone. Mike picked it up on Wed this week. Drove 18 hrs each way and seemed happy as a clam. He wrapped it in plastic, taped it down, covered it, and taped it down again for the ride home. I think he is going to take care of it.....I felt really bad as I watched it get trailered off down the road. Now i'll dive into the project.

Did you give the deadbeat ebay bidder a refund?

No, I didn't, but the more I think about it the more I think I should. If it didn't say in clear english the deposit was nonrefundable and if he didn't hold me up for a month, I would.

Well, Just so you can hear from another county, so to speak. I am a pretty forgiving and understanding person, but in my opinion, you owe the guy nothing!

He had plenty of time to make sure he had the money, and he had plenty of time to ask you to withdraw his bid if something fell through or he changed his mind before the auction ended or he certainly should not have placed the bid. If your gonna play with the big boy toys, like bidding for things on Ebay, then be prepared to pay the big boy prices. JMHO.

Black Betty back on the market - NOT

                                http://www.oodle.com/view/1979-Yamah...328391776/usa/

I was just cruising internet ads and found a bike that looked really familiar, Black Betty. Same photos as in XS11LOVER's ebay listing. Just for laughs I replied to the ad. Guess what? Its a scam. Here was the reply:

                                Hello,
I am out the country right now and i can't answer the phone or call you. I work in the U.S Air Force and i am out the country almost all the time. i am in Iraq right now and i am forced to sell the bike because it is a really bad life here and honestly i don't need it anymore because i have no time to ride it. If you are interested to purchase this bike i know a way to deliver it to your location safely and give you a 5 days inspection period to test it. Contact me back with any question!
                                Thank you,
                                David Nelson
                                U.S. AIR FORCE

It has been reported to oodle as a scam.
