Just a brief intro from a new member, although I was a member for a short time some years ago (around the time TKat starting building his fork braces, are these still available by the way?)
I'm 48 years old and live in the South Island on New Zealand and have owned a 1980SG for the last ten years. I bought it as a basket case and rebuilt it with what i could find at the time. It's all original but some things are showing thier age, like me. Two weekends ago I was returning home from a Rally and had successfully travelled another 500 trouble free kilometres when the unthinkable happened. I slid on some greasy road at an intersection and the bike fell over on me, breaking my left leg. (and seriously denting my pride). I was 10 kilometres from home and travelling at about 40 Kilometres an hour. 30 year veterens of the road don't make these kind of mistakes. As a result I'm now looking for a left hand front footpeg, a left front blinker, a round rev counter, a complete new headlight and both mounting brackets.
First real ride of the season for me, and the last.

She told me the rev counter was shot, even handed me the remains of the shroud, turns out it's the speedo instead. Good thing horses don't have guages.
The indicator is repairable I think, just needs the threaded shaft replaced. The headlight surround and brackets are shot and the footpeg is torn right off from the mount, but other than the usual broken clutch levers and scraped paint it looks okay. Did discover that a previous owner had laid it down at some stage and used lots of plastic filler to rebuild some engine covers.
Anybody got a complete speedo in a chrome housing they want to part with?
