          Long

I was very lucky on this one, it was in pretty good shape when I got her. When I bought it, I was on vacation and away from work for a month. I spent 2 weeks of that vacation cleaning carbs and polishing. Now that I have her about ready to ride, it's time to focus a little on the 78E. Getting new paint and mufflers and thinking seriously about getting a big bore kit to go with everything else. Good luck and happy polishing!! Oh.. and hoping I get them both in a calendar someday soon!!

                  so lucky

Yeah 400 was a good price my 78 was 550 and not nearly in as nice condition but it did run , and I've only spent about 1500 to get into decent shape, haha. New clutch tires set of carbs , redone seat , new wiring harness , 750 mod , fuse block and etc. Etc.

I think I will do the 750 mod on the 79F since I don't plan on riding it too hard. My 78E is going to be my "Street Fighter" !!

                          courage

Hopefully not "dutch courage". Any way what are you planning for the 78 it will get higher top speed but will be slower off the line with a 750 mod, let us know?

I thought the 750 was for the 79 F. The 78 leaving the 11 final drive? I am interested in what you are thinking to give the most powerful stock version more "courage". Not that it would be tough to give it more HP, but geez, unless you are truly into street racing or somethin, these things already got scary power.

Nope .. Not into racing... I guess I'm just a 54 year old power junky!! I am concerned about orignality though, and like I said, I 'm still in the thinking about doing it stage. I'll probably chicken out!!
I am set on re-painting though. The paint job is going to cost me $650, but it's worth it to me to keep the original Macho Maroon paint scheme.
