Hey Doug, I'm Don. That was a note to EGLeaves (Eric) as he had suggested a Kentucky route.
That is another route option I was looking at, Just thought it might be a bit more backroad and I'm not sure fo the conditions of the roads. Either way works for me.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

No Problem Doug, I met Eric, he might take more offense to that than I.
As one of five kids and growing up in farm country, don't call me late for dinner and I'm happy.

My Madison route was a bit different..pick up 56 out of Aurora to 156,stop at Markland Dam for a pee and scenery break, then cruise down to Madison for a meal break, lots of places to hit and then pick up 62 back to 50...very little traffic and easy to keep a group together.. Eric's ride in KY sounds cool rt 10 and I also heard rt 22 was a nice ride also down that way.....I would have to be at the rear not being a knee dragging type of rider with a full fairing...what ever we decide..any other ride suggestions? I wanna be there. This coming weekend I plan on my first overnite run of the year camping next to the tracks What is it with me and trains:-)
Trains and bikes...trains and bikes......bikes and trains...must have a few screws lose in my handlebars.......

I'm taking my bike to my mechanic on the 13th. It should be up and running shortly thereafter which means I'll have to keep up with this thread so I can join you all for the next ride.If you don't own a fire extinguisher, do me a personal favor and go purchase one... immediately.

Bill - I have total faith in your planning ability, and personally I like following your fanny - haven't been up to 40mpg since the last time I did. I won't be scraping any footpegs either 'till I get new rubber (besides, the engine guards always touch first ).
Varnae - Glad to hear your planning to join the group. What are you going to have your mechanic do?I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

Here's the route I was thinking of through KY:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...,0.878906&z=10
It wound up being a little longer than I thought, but there is plenty of room for route adjustments. This route could be run either of two ways; lazy roads first and then finish the day with twisties, or jump right into the twisties and then unwind on the lazy roads.
I've never been to Falmouth so I don't know it it's worth going that far South or not; anyone know anything about the town? If it's not quite worth hitting Falmouth, the route could be considerably shortened.I know this, because Tyler knows this.

Eric - I was in Falmouth about twenty years ago. Back then it was one of those places where the men are men and the sheep are nervous . Route looks OK to me.I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

A friend of mines family used to own a farm outside of Falmouth. It is your typical small river city in the middle of nowhere Kentucky. Nothing I ever noticed that was notable, but then I was goin down to cut wood and haul it back, not site see then.
Lets just say the farmers might wear oversized boots. I know Baaaaaad joke.
Eric, for some reason that link brought up my Madison route for me. Is it just me? Might need to clear my registry to get your route.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

I got the Madison Route too....ok, I'm sure it's a good route too. Again, the route is irrelevant, I just want to ride with some good folks. Varnae, I feel your pain about the garage, or lack thereof; my bike is sitting under a tarp in my driveway as we speak, I still have a little of the garage left, but most of it has been turned into a 4th bedroom and consequently, the garage part is only about 6 ft deep by one car wide. I work on my bike when I can, always in the driveway, sometimes it's raining on me, sometimes it's cold, or both. keep the faith brother, you'll get there, nothing goes as fast for me as I would like due to the weather, but, I always seem to get my stuff taken care of in the nick of time. hope to see you at the next ride. have a nice day and ride safeI am the Lorax, I speak for the Trees

Hmmm....It does link to your map, Don. Well, that's what happens when I don't test a link before I throw it out there. I guess it's doing that because I accessed google maps through Don's link, but even though I made a new route the old URL stuck, weird. I'll try again today if I can find a few minutes.I know this, because Tyler knows this.

Eric,
No problem as far as route. That sounds like a nice route to. I'm like Matt, don't really care where as much as how I go (on bike) and with whom. And hope you guys are not to picky about with whom so I can go.
Varnae, your welcome to come along for sure, that way I won't be the only new guy.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
