  • I'll be there, but with a forecast of 28 degrees and scattered flurries I'm not optimistic about bringing the bike.
I know this, because Tyler knows this.

Just jumped on here:-) I think we decided yes....a spring ride would be nice..destination...still unknown..kinda hard to talk with a lot of comotion going on but if we all throw some ideas out there for some routes we should find a happy riding ground,my Madison ride was aimed at the touring in me with a bit of sport towards the end.Eric's KY ride would be a lot if not all sport and Don's ride would be...didn't really say but there are places to go to.I can do the sport twisty thing and still keep up I think with my touring rig,I don't really wanna go over 150 miles or so because of the time...nothing over 8 hours for me. Eric,Don and Mat you guys come up with a round trip for where ya wanna go..my Madison ride is posted as my suggestion...
Good seeing the crew,CUZ was from http://rideohio.org/index.php I am Conrail. As much as I wanted to ride today my grey hair said no..20 degrees and a bit of the white..wise decision.

Spring will be here before we know it...lets get our shti together and get some kinda ride together:-)

              • Great time

It was great to finally put some faces and voices to the names. Eric, Bill, and Matt, it was certainly a pleasure to meet all of you and a good lunch with fine conversation. I may have to find a route through New Lebanon next time I am in Dayton and need to head to Indianapolis, just to mix up that drive a bit.

I see you take the back way home Bill, I go that way every morning. Anything to stay off Colerain.

As to the ride, I am open to anything. Like we all kinda talked about, highway riding is not the goal. As to sport riding, well, I am getting a bit older and sometimes wiser to, that and I have not been on a bike in 20 years, so I will ride where you want to go and do my best to keep up. Still learning the capabilities of the old girl and what she likes and don't. Learned some of what she don't already. Sounds like Bill would like to build some site seeing into it, so that will take some planning. Eric suggested going West or NW since he has not been that way much.

                    • Amen brother, I am itchin to get some quality riding time in. I've taken a few short spins around the neighborhood as I am trying to get some tuning done to compensate for the changes I've made to the intake. It won't take long, just need a little time to tinker. had plans to do that today but, people in a steel mill in Butler, PA had other things to say about that. So, here I sit, surfing the internet, watching 10,000 BC on HBO. hooray, what a great weekend I'm having. all told, I'd rather be tinkering on the bike; warm, cold, dry, wet, whatever. On a better note, YES, I am ready to get Il Barrachino off the stand and put some miles on her. Have a nice day and ride safe

                      • Got some riding in on Tuesday, and last night.

As to the upcoming spring ride, to quote Matt "I'm down with the sickness". Definitely looking forward to seeing the group and perhaps meeting Doug.

Madison or Ky works for me. My thinking is that the Ky route may be better if the temps are cool since it would be less in the river valley, otherwise, I like being on the river.

                        • Bill - I'm still here - just hybernating - don't knock it though, it beats hyperventilating any day Betsy's been up on her stand for the last couple months and like you I haven't been wrenching on her lately. Haven't got around to new tires yet, but I'm sure the rubber that's on her will do. Have to change the oil, but that takes like ten minutes.

I kind of liked the Madison idea. Lots of nice country roads over that way. Kentucky also sounds good - probably more twisties and hills there. Then again, a road is a road - what makes it fun is the company. That being said, I'm up for whatever the group wants to do. Looking forward to it.

I'll drop my brother and tupperj a line and see if we can bring them into the fold for the next trip. If Gary King has his machine running he might want to go, and he's got another friend with a mint-condition special that I know could make the trip. I'll check with them too. The more the merrier.
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

Madison option, one way of doing it. Looks good? Time frame within the desires? The idea was not to hit all of the towns shown, just the best way to force google to the route I had in mind.

                            Eric,

Not sure what route in KY you had in mind. See if you can map one out like this.

                            • Eric - looks ok to me, with the possible exception of the 421 leg (kind of a straight nothing special road). Might I suggest 62 to 129 to versailles? More twisties.

                              • Don, that's a good looking route you've put together. I've driven the US42 leg going to and from a customer site in Ghent, KY. it's a good route although the last time I drove it the road needed some attention. It's not impassable by any means, but it has some potholes and such. again, whatever the group decides, I'm down for, it's all good, the route is irrelevant, the company is essential, it's all good. have a nice day and ride safe
