Well, I never think that far ahead. I know, some say I never think. I got the meet and greet at RR cleared through SWMBO, so I should be on. As to a ride path/route, I am pretty easy. I will tag along anywhere.

As to the other riders Bill, more the merrier is my way of thinkin, riding or meeting.

I don't know the neighborhood very well, but I've been down some great roads in KY. More specifically, I think it was RT 10 and some of it's offshoots and parallels headed East and South. I had reason to head out that way several times a few years ago and I remember beautiful country roads with light traffic and plenty of ups, downs, lefts and rights. It would make a great spring ride, I'll have to take a look at a map to jog my memory.

Erick..pick a route..Rt 10..30 years since I have been on it..don't remember a thing about it:-)sounds good to me...then we be sniffing your exhaust the whole way and staring at your tail........lite Ya gotta take it easy tho I am too old to go fast and my AARP card forbids speeds over 45 mph.Get us there and get us back...will bring current gal pal along...

Looked into it a bit, pick up rt10 around Alexandria Ky and go to Willow and hit rt 22 which I hear is great and stop at Falmouth for a break or lunch and head to Williamstown..nasty ride back on I75 tho.Or reverse it.Another option.
Rt 10 to Maysville and cross the river back to OH and pick some roads to come back on to head us home.
Or just stay in KY and as Erick said there are many off chutes of rt10...get out the maps..other thought.. how many miles do we wanna ride...guess we can discuss a lot of this at the meeting.
Just found out the manager at RR is the daughter in law of some one I know..we will have to behavebut we may get a motorcycle discount:-)

How long in hours or miles are we looking to go is a good question. Since I did not go last time, I have no idea what the past ride(s) have been.

Routes?? I am open to most anything. Highway is not typically my choice, than again I won't bail or complain either way. A nice ride with some fellow SWOXS is the goal for me.

I think our inaugural ride was about 4 or 5 hours. If I remember correctly, we met @ 10:00am, left about :20 past, finished about 3:30 ish. someone whose memory is better, correct me and refresh mine. it wasn't non stop riding, we rode for a bit, got off, looked around at the scenery, chatted a bit, rode some more, repeat the process. it was a fine time all the way around. I don't see us getting moving much before 10:00 on any rides as I think I have the farthest ride to get to the ride of the bunch of us, took me about an hour and a half to get to the first one. I have a hell of a time getting moving in the AM , leaving my house before 8:00 could be challenging (hell, I have a hard time getting out the door by 7:30 during the week and I'm supposed to be at work at 7:30. I suppose I could get to bed really early the night before so I can hit the bricks by 7:00, but only if it proves to be necessary . anyway, to answer your question (again I think) 1st time 4 - 5 hours, was a good ride especially for riding with an unfamiliar group. It'll be a blast, this I foresee, have a nice day and ride safe

Which is a great reason for us to come up with routes all over SWO. You might have to commute to one ride, and then the next one might be in your back yard (sorry about the lawn, my wife says those flowers will grow back soon).

Our first ride happened to be convenient located for me, but then Matt's riding day was 3 hours longer than mine. Matt, I'm sure you are all torn up inside about spending an extra 3 hours ridding your bike down the open road with nothing but the sound of the wind and 1100 cc's screaming in your ears; hang in there, we'll help you through it.

We could think about heading up along the little Miami. Meeting some where close to Doug and heading up old 3C (22/3) and coming back some other roads. Just a thought.

Doesn't that head up in the direction of Yellow Springs? That's a neat little town with some good lunch spots.

To get to Yellow Springs (AKA Hippieville, OH), you would have to pick up US68 somewhere, I haven't been over that way in several years (the sad part is it's only 30 - 45 min from my house). 22/3 would be a good road to ride if I remember correctly, of course almost all the roads start to get better the further south and east you get in this state. out where I live, the rural areas are carved into 1 mile square blocks. I can be 5 or 6 miles from home out in the country and can tell the mileage home to within a couple 10ths by looking at the address of whatever house I am passing at the time. it does get better a little southwest of me, I think Bill is familiar with that part of Ohio as I think I read a post of his saying something about riding up around Camden (20 min from my place). and yes Eric, it was torture (cough cough) having an extra 3 hours on the bike getting to and from our inaugural ride ahem yeah, that's the ticket, right. anywho, there may not be a whole lot of great riding roads around where I am, but I'll ride what roads I can where I can when I can. That said, can't wait for spring ride, hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have a nice day and ride safe

I believe it was a 50 minute ride for me to get there not too bad.
They main thing I would like to see is that we stay away from traffic lights and towns as much as possible so we don't loose anyone.My riding style is probably a little different from you guys:-) I have the fastest XS when it comes to stopping at a historical marker or something to see,I would just like the group to stay together so the last rider doesn't have to do 90 to catch up.
Up rt 22 is fine,top of my head I know of a couple of places but it's been awhile and Doug could help up that. If we head towards Mat(Lorax) there are a lot of nice roads,smooth,I'm sure there are a few curves somewhere:-)There is more to Ohio than corn..I think

Eric's idea down in KY was also nice..think we would have to pay attention down there:-)

One thing I do recall about those KY back roads heading down toward Falmouth is the kamikaze cage drivers. There isn't much traffic down there, but the locals get a little crazy sometimes, what with the lack of traffic and law enforcement. Just something to think about.
