The days are getting shorter, and soon our babies will be settled in for their long winter nap. In the mean time, the leaves are starting to change color and mother nature is getting ready to do her annual fashion show here in southern ohio.
The Lorax and I were discussing a get together with area owners for a nice long drive in the country. The Lorax assures me that the leaves will change color, and who better to know - after all, he does speak for the trees .
If your interested I'll need a little information in order to coordinate. If you will PM me with the following information I'll attempt to organize the outing. First I need to know where everyone is located in order to select a starting/stopping point that is as close to equadistant from everyone as possible. Second I need to know when your schedules are open. This will most likely be a saturday or sunday affair, so let me know what weekends are good in the month of October. We should probably select a primary date, and a secondary in case the weather doesn't cooperate.
I'm thinking a jaunt of 200 miles or so would be a nice day's ride. If we depart around 10:00 a.m. and arrive back around 3:00-4:00 it should insure that we have the sun pretty much overhead the whole time. I don't know about you folks, but riding into a bright fireball always seems to detract from the experience for me.
Let me know what you all think, and lets go see if a pack of 11's can rumble the leaves off the trees. Anyone else who's interested and will be in the area is surely welcome - the more the merrier.
