Fellas, Got home about 45 min. ago, had a blast, a thoroughly good time all the way around. Bill, Doug, Eric, it was a pleasure to ride with you guys today. Doug, it was good to see you again, Bill, Eric, it was my pleasure to meet you both and I hope we can get together and ride again some time (hopefully, I'll have taken the time to get mine looking like something the cat dragged in, it would be an improvement after all). you fellas have some fine looking machines, hope to see them and you all again sometime. Again, it was my pleasure to ride with you guys today. have a nice day and ride safe

I agree whole-heartedly. Great weather, great scenery, and great company - what more could you ask for. Bill did an excellent job with the route planning and pack leading. I loved the ferry ride - I've never seen a boat do what that ferry does before The flood wall in Maysville was really something, and the view from the Rankin House - totally awesome. And the whole thing topped off with those killer twisties in the last half - just a great ride.

The first thing I did when I got home was to drop in on my brother to tell him what he missed. I'll bet he'll make sure his bike is in top form next time. I think we had a nice core group, and once Bill posts the pics I'm sure it will grow. SWOXS is here, get used to it

Hey guys, just now checking the forum since yesterday. Glad to hear everyone made it home without incident. Awesome ride, awesome weather, I had a blast. Thanks Bill, for leading the ride, a job well done.

It was great to meet you guys, I really like being able to put a face to a name and now I have three more. We definitely have to do it again and hopefully in greater numbers!

Eric - glad you checked in - I was getting concerned. I'm also glad we didn't need to do any towing yesterday. I was just perusing the manual and saw a notation I had forgotten. Not supposed to let an XS coast for long distances with the engine off as it won't get adequate lubrication to the tranny - I assume that goes double for towing. That could have been a big 'oops'. I better take that tow rope out of my kit before I forget again .

Interesting, that's something I wouldn't have thought of being a concern. Better to find out this way than the other!

Towing a XS1100?? Never heard of such a thing..they always start..RIGHT!! just need a little coaxing at times I think I was chosen leader cause if I(being the oldest there)were in the rocking chair I might fall alsleep or get lost:-)besides I can keep ya under control that way

XSellent write up Bill. Pics looked quite good. I agree, truly fine company on a truly fine ride. I got a little chilled on my ride down to Cincinnati, but as the day wore on, the temps came up and all was well with the world. I also hope to do it again, I had such a good time on this ride, I can't wait for the next. wherever it is, whenever it is, I'm certain it will be a good time especially if it includes such fine folk as I rode with on Sunday. again, good work on the write up, have a nice day and ride safe

Thanks Mat,tried to tell it like it was in a short story, too many words and ya lose interest. The flood wall at Portsmouth is where ya gotta go..

Good winter trip with the other half in the 4 wheeler and then stay at The Shawnee State Park Lodge...always a good time.

Thinking about a ride next spring towards Madison IN,same set up,scenic for the first half and then some spirited riding at the end..good mix to keep riders interest.
Taking the bike camping this weekend down to Blanchet Ky next to the tracks..I pack like the Beverly Hillbillies:-)
