Triple Digit Cherry

When, where, why? Hmmm, cant remember when the first time was cause it was many many years ago. The most recent time was Sunday morning. Where? My favorite spot is a two lane stretch along the Bonne Carre Spilway near New Orleans...never anyone there. Why? Does anyone really have to answer that one?

First time? 115 in a 94 ford escort 5-speed, radar verified. If you've got a long enough hill it'll get there What can I say, when your 16 and have like 10 people in your car urging you on you do stupid stuff. When I saw the cop come over the hill in the other lane I just pulled over and waited. I knew he got me.

First time on my bike was on the free way. A guy on a yamaha triple passed me so I decided to keep up, got to around 110 or so. Exchanged big smiles and thumbs up when he got to his exit.

When I was 16 I had a RD125...travelling down a gravel road, slightly down hill, feet on rear signal stocks and chin on speedo, hit 74mph after what felt like 5 minutes.

Month later I was on the back of my buddy's unlce's brand new XS11...looked over his shoulder and saw 120mph

Finally got my own '79SF in '88...riding to school down hwy 400 and got challenged by a KZ1100...we both did just over 220 kph (130 mphish) before traffic got too heavy.

Back when I was younger, I'd get the 850 Special or my Kawasaki GPz 550 up into the triple digits.

Now, 25 yrs later with my XS1100 Special, I've got nowhere to go that isn't going to be there whenever I finally arrive.

First time for me was on a 1977 XS 400. I managed to get it up to 115 mph while hugging the gas tank. Of course I was 19 and weighed about 140 pounds. It was on the local bypass right after it had been repaved. The second time was when a coworker went on and on about how his turbo TransAm would blow away my 700 Nighthawk S. He pulled out on the road and punched it, I was going about 135 mph when I passed him like he was parked. For some reason the trash talk stopped. Had my 11SF over triple digits once, but we have so many deer, raccoons and groundhogs around here the idea of hitting the pavement at that speed gives me the willys

I passed my dad and by the time i was pulling back into my lane
was over 100 and then brought her up to 120
then backed off.

i have had the wifes 89 dodge spirit up to 120 in 4th gear never touched 5th

The first time I remember goin over 100 was in the late 80s on my Kawasaki Triple. I hit 110 mph for a long stretch on the Merit Parkway between Wallingford and Meriden CT. It was a blast! I didn't think 110 was to bad for a 1973 350cc bike.

Never been triple digits on a bike. Rode the XS11 to 80 when I was test riding it (stupid I know). It's been windy around here to the point where I'm not comfortable past about 80.

I've topped out my 93 Mustang LX multiple times on the highway. It's just the 2.3, but I got the speedo needle almost back to 0 on an 85 gauge, my estimate is 105-115.

I hear ya. It wasn't the smartest idea for me to take the bike up to 110 but I had never done it before and I wanted to see what my bike could do. I don't plan on hitting triple digits again any time soon, at least not in the North woods.

And what are these boat pictures doing on here?!

I pegged the '81 XS back when I still had it, but I was most likely only in the mid 90's. Now with the Katana, I've one 100 once. Both times were in Washoe Valley over here. Divided 4-lane that sane people do 80 through.
