Seafoam in the spark plug hole

Tonight I had an idea . My car(Toyota Corolla) burns oil and research points to the oil seal piston ring carboned up . So I poured about 114 ml(1/4 can) of seafoam in each cylinder to soak as long as possible . I was thinking of cranking it over occasiaonally with out the plug wires attached ( once a day) .
Anybody ever try this ?
My bike burns some oil . Do you think I should try this on the bike ?

My car had that problem. The drain holes under the oil rings were clogged and the rings were stuck. I replaced the rings and worked the head. It runs like new!

I guess what you're doing can't hurt, but I'll be surprised if it works. It's certainly worth a try.

I had a 650 Midnight Maxim, that seemed to run fine.

One day I did a compression test for the heck of it and all 4 cylinders were 95-100psi.

Put (not seafoam, but hey) diesel on top the pistons, let it sit overnight and changed the oil the next afternoon.

Compression was 135-140psi across the board, and I found out what it was SUPPOSEd to run like...

I agree with changing the oil after and you have to make sure you do not score the cylinder walls on startup since the Seafoam has probably taken all the lubrication away. You might consider turning the motor over until you get oil pressure before you start up.

It does work . I did this to our old beater of car, 84 Pontiac, and it did run much better.

Seafoam to the rescue

Thanks guys .
I was leary about pouring it onto a hot piston so I let it cool off for an hour or so . I noticed in the video they dont mention changing the oil in the car that they pour the seafoam into the oil ...
I may not turn the engine over unecessarily as there may be a lack of lubrication . On start up I will unhook the plug wires and crank to get oil pressure then re-connect the wires .
I plan to change the oil but I may run it a bit first to clean the crankcase

If you read the directions on the Seafoam can, it says you can put some in the oil and leave it there.

Just depends on how much your going to put in.

I'm sure they are generalizing for car/ truck usage. I would change the oil, never know what it could do to the clutch. I have put some in the Firebird to stabilize the fuel while it sits awaiting restoration, starting it once a month of course.

Deep Creep

I saw in the video that they said only to run a diesel engine one hour and change the oil .
This afternoon I purchased a can of Deep Creep and srayed in all the intake /vacuum ports to soak . I hope I got a lot of the plenum. I read that they get pretty carboned up and cause a vibration (which I have in abundance) . Pretty cool stuff - I ended up pretty well painting the whole engine compartment with it .
I also sprayed some in the vac ports on the running bike . Smoke was produced everywhere so I may have a few exhaust leaks !

Thin oil

Today I checked my oil level to see if it had gone up. It had by about a quarter of a quart . The oil was so thin that I couldnt see it right away . I had to hold it to the light and check the back of the dipstick to see it . It is very thin . I hope it will be ok to drive it a couple of miles to the Walmart to get it changed . My plan was that this drive would clean my crankcase . I guess I need not add any more Seafoam to the oil .

I hope it cleans the clutch. I can't see that it would hurt it.

I was thinking slipping/ burning if left in and driving around with "thin oil", right?

I would assume that the amount they say to put is not going to thin your oil right out.


But that's just me.
