    Yay - Boo

Got my lines in . I inquired about the banjos that swivel but never quite got an answer so ... I have all lines that each end is inline with the other and I'm having problems routing . I remember someone warning about this . Funny the line guy didnt seem too worried about this item . If I bend them to make the connections the lines are twisted and look weird . I am inquiring with the supplier as to remedies .

When I recieved my S/S lines from cyclebrakes.com they came with instructions on how to adjust them. You put something hard but pliable "like a ballpoint pen" in the ends and then with a slight pull applied you simply twist the ends. I will see if I still have the pics here and post them.

        I wish

Communication with the supplier has revealed that the ends on these lines are not adjustable . I may have to send them back and there may be a charge for the new ones not to mention shipping

            more in the saga

I got a second opinion from a mechanic that I trust and he says at least one of the lines is a no-go and two others because of their length might be twisted to work . Only one line is ok .
I figure if I have to send one back I will send the iffy ones too .
I have sent an email to the supplier and will see what he says .

man, if you can't get them with adjustable banjos, I'd ask for money back.. One of the reasons we got Galfer lines (cyclebrakes.com) is because their banjos swivel 360 degrees. I don't know if that's the reason they are more expensive, but that little bit of flexibility is worth it IMHO...

                  the saga continues

Hindsight may prove a better path but I will send these back for adjustment . In the return email no cost was mentioned . I told them I would be unhappy if I had to pay more . Shipping cost was bad enough . But if all ends well it will be another lesson learned .
Still quite a bit cheaper than the Galfers but if you want no- worry , colored lines with matching bolts and washers ,thats the way to go .

hey, if they adjust them for you at no cost, that's still a good deal. after all, it only has to be done once.

Well you must have gotten the last 16mm master cylinder they had. They're out of them now as well as the high output coils.

                              Wow

Yes ,they were out of stock when I checked on the site but when I emailed they said they had the one 16mm left so I grabbed it. It was actually on the handlebar and bled today until the line leaked .Now to ride this weekend ,all the old stuff has to go back on ...

A few months ago I noticed that my rear brake had almost no stopping power. I usually use front brake, and add rear for emphasis, but using JUST rear had no effect. I had the stainless line from a set I purchased years ago, and decided it was time.

The rear master was full of rust and gunk. I cleaned it up and installed the braided steel line, then bled it until clear fluid came through without any air.

I went for a ride and was amazed that my regular pedal pressure could lock up the rear.

As it is now, my rear brake works great, and my front brakes work but don't lock up. Am I better off with the front not locking, as far as safety and avoiding skidding?
