What are you working on? If your doing front end stuff, put a car stand in front of the engine where the frame tube runs across. That holds the front end up and the rear wheel close to the ground. If you want the whole thing up, I just use a standard motorcycle jack to lift the bike and then I set it down on 3 car stands. Two in the back on each side of the frame and one in front of the engine. What kind of pipes do you have?

ARE YOU JUST TRYING TO GET THE TIRES OFF THE GROUND, OR TRYING TO GET IT UP HIGH ENOUGH TO BE AT A MORE WORKABLE LEVEL?

i have 4 into 1 pipes and they run underneath and along the frame (lower than the frame so a bike jack won't sit flat. i have panniers on the back and i want to work on the rear (fill final drive spline with grease) and i don't want to take them off everytime i want to take the rear wheel off. there's not enough hight to drop wheel low enough to get past the rear frame on panniers. Your going to have to make yourself a rack that will sit on the jacks flat pads that has uprights that contact the frame before the pipes contact the jack or the rack. If your bike jack is the same as mine even with the pipes removed it's a real tight fit between the side stand mount point and the main stand mount point to use the jack.

I gave mine away. It was the most worthless POS I've ever owned. I bought a bike lift instead. I'm not trying to talk you out of it, But you may not get exactly what you want with a jack. It may be a bigger hassle then taking the bags off.

Oh, duh. I see the centerstand now. I agree: probably less expense and grief to just take the bags off. This type of service is something you'll likely only need to do every 20k miles or so.

                  Bag mounts

My home built custom pannier mounts will swivle up just like the fender and luggage rack after taking out just one bolt allowing the removal of the rear wheel when it's on the center stand.

XSrunner, While on the center-stand remove seat and you'll see where rear fender is hinged to come up after removing a bolt on each side. Also remove center section of wrap-around bumper tubing.
