Cleared it with SWMBO, got the vacation approved, just made tent reservations at the KOA. Now I just have to get the tranny fixed and replace the gasket under the cam chain tensioner....
Looking forward to it!Jerry Fields

Excellent, Jerry! Get on those fixes now. I missed a Tahoe Rally because my fix wasn't as fixed as I'd hoped.
Ray, I have an email in to KOA asking the name of that motel, and I'll let you know ASAP. If they don't reply, I'll take a little ride up that way and se for myself."Time is the greatest teacher; unfortunately, it kills all of its students."

Just made a call to the Motel!! It's not a great place, but it's cheap. About $60 per night in June, and we don't need to call until about two months before the rally. If anyone else would like a room, let me know here, and I'll call. The owner may be able to give us a discount if we go as a "group"
NOW I KNOW I'LL BE THERE!!!!Ray Matteis

It's in Midpines just a ways down the road from the KOA. It wasn't a mega-star place, but there were beds and potties in the room. Muir Lodge Motel, 209-966-2468. The reviews say it's clean and taken care of, and that if you book early, the rate is great."Time is the greatest teacher; unfortunately, it kills all of its students."

Jerry, we met you in Bozeman a couple of years ago, did we not? THAT was a great rally. My wife and I had a blast. So far, my Yosemite imitation has paled in comparison..."Time is the greatest teacher; unfortunately, it kills all of its students."

Trying to remember, first rally was in 2000 in Arkansas.
Next was Colorado in 2001. Also did the Americade rally in upstate NY that year with 66 and his wife.
Missed 2002, I think.
South Dakota in 2003
Bozeman, Montanna in 2004
Lake Tahoe, Nevada in 2005
Revelstoke, BC in 2006
Olympia, Washington in 2007
Not sure if all the dates / locations are correct, would have to check my photo albums at home. Regardless, all have been good trips. I highly recommend, to anyone who has considered but not gone to an XS11 rally, that you do so. You won't be disappointed!Jerry Fields

Ralph, I'll call the Motel again mid March, and make the reservations. If anyone else would like a room, let me know. The prices are low, but it's a clean room for the night, with the bathroom inside, not a 50 yard walk! Some SWMBO's won't go unless the room has the bathroom as part of it.Ray Matteis
