    Yosemite Rally

That weekend sounds doable to me. I'm gonna check out the motels in the area for space and pricing.

I would love to come to that but I have got school. Thats where my Dad and I picked up our 78SF. Some of the coolest riding I have done. Awesome twisties.

I will make the reservation asap,,,,I am assuming if anyone needs a tent spot there should be a lot of space available,,,,is there any stores nearby for needy things like food and brewski's?

Sip - it's no big deal. I've done it 3 times in the past three years. From my door to The Sierra's it's about 1700 miles. Just get on...shut up....and twist the throttle.

Sorry I discovered this thread so late, but it sounds great to me. I'd love to make it, but I probably won't know until the last minit.
I'd like to meet you again, Loho.

Old bikers never die, they're just out of sight!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"

Mike, the KOA has a store on premises for necessaries, there is a nice town (Mariposa) about ten minutes away, we'll have a Suburban for any large scale transportation, and I will provide most meals. Breakfast in camp, snacks or lunch on the road, and BBQ for dinner, probably burgers and dogs one night and tri-tip on the next. The county doesn't allow open fires, so we'll have a propane campfire. Sounds stupid, but it worked okay last time.

I know you guys can't hump chairs and such on your bikes, so I'll do my best to have all the camp stuff I can. My awning, an afterthought, saved my bacon last year in the rain, but I doubt we'll see poor weather in mid-June.

By early June I'd like a firmer number to gauge food. We had waaaay too much last year, but we only had a handful of folks show up.

Any cigar smokers in the crowd?

I would really like to attend, but my life is always so up in the air I don't think I can make reservations. Do you know how long we would have to cancel reservations?

If you camp, you can probably just bring a tent and bag, and share a spot. We had 3 per spot last year, and the "cabins" will also sleep three, a bunk bed and a double. If I can get the number of the one motel that was nearby, it was only about $10 more per night for two people.

I'll ride up that way and find out about the motel. It looked a little seedy, but no worse that a tent or bunk house Kabin. At least you have a toilet in your room.

Ray, are you gonna make it?

81xs, the first post has the link to the KOA with all of their policies and such lined out.

                          LoHo,
I will try to make it. Part of it depends on my trying to make the Texas get together. I'm planning on trying to ride out with Planedick, and don't know how far he will ride each day. If I get a room, I can have SWMBO meet me up there, and then I know I can do it. If not, It will probably be out for me...

Hi Folks, I just made a reservation at the KOA for a tent site 6-13-15, with water, tv, and I only have the need for one tent. The tent site can hold at least three tents,,so if you need a tent spot no need to spend the bucks,,,so first come first served....hope to see as many xs,xj's there as possible. The scenery is unreal. Regards, Mike S. 1982 XJ1100 Maxim

Hey guys, my family and I are regular campers, so we have a couple of large tents and a couple of smaller ones. I'll make those available so that you don't have to tote them. Three guys could easily share one of the two larger tents. Let me know.
