    "Thank you, t3rmin..."

    Was that Handy's work?
(I'm not above plagiarism if I can't recall the original author... or I don't think I'll get caught)

Now then... I find Lew Rockwell's site offensive concerning several issue near and dear to my blacken heart, especially when it tosses slurs at my radical political belief system, but... there is a good archive of articles written by Dr. Paul there.

stop wearing that little skull-cap beanie that you made out of aluminum foil and quit walking around downtown muttering to yourself.
      aluminum foil best defense!
I've got a patent pending on my new and improved XSive anti mind control alien defeating helmet (32 % Reynolds wrap ) Only thing that might hamper sale of the new helmet is that the federal government is mandating that I place a warning label on it. "can cause serious injury or death if head placed in a microwave oven while wearing this product".
      ___________

There is a lot wrong with our political system.
Money plays to important a roll at all levels.
Another is that in a country of more than 300,000,000 look who gets to run for office The choie of voting for the lessor of evils has lost it's appeal, evil is evil.

I'd like to beleave that our country (the best thats ever been) can get a grip, but from what I see, too many people vote on what they read/hear of the head lines and won't be bothered with facts. A lot of both parties would have been voted out of office long ago if people were really paying attention.

        "That clear plastic stuff"

Wasn't your other patent on the idea of wrapping something else using Saran Wrap?
I seem to recall that several users still got pregnant.
You're lucky there were no lawsuits.
        And squeeking of lawyers....
Where is it written that all political candidates have to be from the legal field?
(Ok, Bush was from a different field.. way out in left field, but the question remains)
Perot's greatest asset was that he was a businessman. Running a country is a purely business-like affair and should be treated as such.
Don't need lawyers with their weasly ways of double-talk and legal dodges. (Prisoners are unlawfull combatants... We don't torture, we coerce, etc)
Presidents don't have to be genius'... just need good advisors and the common sense to decide if the advice is good... and good for the common good, etc.

Perhaps not his doing, but I don't see him distancing himself from this ilk.

That is unfortunate. You see , the prroblem with that is it won't just be a few years of pain. If they pass half of the BS entitlements they're proposing, it will be DECADES of pain if not centuries (if the country survives it that long).

Unlike the Right, which is very fragmented, the lefties are fairly united. The horror that is Universal Health Care alone will be the largest single sweeping entitlement the country will ever be faced with. If you think that it can just be done away with after it gets started you're going to be in for a big surprise. Show me one major entitlement that has ever gone away in the history of this country. You can't. It doesn't exist. Once the people start sucking on that giant government tete, noone will easily remove them from it. It will take nothing short of a violent revolution to stop it. Would you really rather see that? Do you really believe that it would succeed? Just look at what happened last time.....

Where is it written that all political candidates have to be from the legal field?

The federal level is dominated by lawyers.
Would imagine that it's the same at the state level too.
Is the reason why "the law" has become more important than justice or commonsense. Many of the so called "good lawyers" fancy themselves "word smiths". (one of my own thought so)
To defend the indefensible and "win" for them is like hitting a grand slam. And should there actions screw an innocent in the process that's OK, it's the way the game is played.
Politicians are just the worst of the "lawyer rot".

Wasn't your other patent on the idea of wrapping something else using Saran Wrap?

Does that mean your droping your suit? Thanks Prom!

One mans ideals/vision means little if not supported by the other branches of government. Our system of "checks/balances" are there to restrain one from becoming "King" of our country. This is the good of our system. Can you imagine what the world would be like if just one man had complete control of the USA? For a meaningful change to happen in our politics will require replacing the majority of congress. Not likely to happen in our lifetime.

Ron Paul has publicly condemned those groups. But he speaks more with actions than words: even a cursory look at his record and life will show he doesn't believe anything of the sort. If these losers want to throw money away at someone who disagrees with them, he's happy to take it and do something good with it. Why not?

The other candidates make a big show out of returning donations and it's just more political nonsense. Ron Paul doesn't have the means nor the desire to screen every single one of his supporters. It's a non-issue and this particular attack has mostly fizzled because it's just silly.

I don't disagree with anything here, except the timetable. I'm tired of slowing the inevitable with impotent Republicans. Ultimately it's just a prolonged and more miserable fate. Violent revolution or not, it'll take something BIG for things to change and I'm prepared to accept that rather than slowly spiraling despair.

And to veer it back into the positive... You want to talk about eliminating entitlements and the like? Have you heard Ron Paul's laundry list of agencies to eliminate? Not streamline, not cut back -- eliminate.

And he does want to phase out SS and Medicare. He's realistic about this, not putting dependents out on the streets with immediate elimination. A real "compassionate conservative". But he's the most anti-entitlement guy out there, and he's not afraid to say it.

By the way, Dr. Paul has nothing against Israel (or Jews, or whatever the insinuation is). He opposes foreign subsidies, period. In fact he gives Israel more credit than most, saying they can take care of themselves; we're just hurting them with our subsidies and the conditions/demands we foist along with 'em. And he's right. Take a look at their history: nobody know how to kick butt like the Israelis. They can handle the Arabs quite well without our meddling.

You're right about politicians. But I'm not sure Dr. Paul is aptly described as one. Statesman or patriot comes to mind. I'm serious.

You sound like just the kind of person who's looking for a Ron Paul. He's neither self serving or dishonest. I've never seen anything like it. Obviously I won't convince you on this message board. Visit www.ronpaul2008.com and prove me wrong. Mainly watch the videos. If you can find a single blemish against his character, I'll go pavement surfing with my XS again next week. ;-)

I have no illusions he'll be able fix everything. But unlike any other candidate, I know he'll do his level best. He will not compromise, he will not give up, he will not be swayed. And I believe if this movement gains enough steam to get him in the Whitehouse, it should be able to get some quality folks into congress, etc, and start making big progress.
