xstra room at motel 6 south lake tahoe
i spoke to planedick and his posse is fading quick, 50 percent chance his buddy will go up,
bottom line i have a room at the motel 6 reserved with 2 beds, so does planedick, mine is for friday only and his both nights.
that means there are 2 extra beds to split costs with, if i ride up with planedick alone and if i don't hear of a need for my room by 330p friday pacific time 310 666 6622, then i will cancel the reservation
it would be a shame to cancle it and someone needs a room so contact me early so we can plan... thanks"a good man knows his limitations" dirty harry

Aw man! This is shapeing up to be a really nice rally! To bad, I just don't think I can make it. SWMBO wrecked her car Sunday and is just now getting home from the hospital. This on top of moving and not being settled into our new place.
Lots to do... Ya'll have fun!

sorry everyone, planedick got upset and offended by my presumption that his room was available to share and this is a public and internet
apology to planedick and those who; because of my previous post had concluded space was available either with me or planedick.
i just thought this was fun and not that serious, but i guessed wrong, so i bow out of the ride and offer my room that is available friday with 2 beds, pm me to reserve it by thurs that is when i will cancel it.
again sorry if i caused a problem, ride safe and sleep tight..."a good man knows his limitations" dirty harry

Mason,
Sorry to hear your not going to make it! Was looking forward to the ride Saturday with everyone. It is going over Monitor pass, and then south on 395 to 108 West. Have lunch at Kennedy Meadows, and then back to 395 and North to the Carson City area, and then back to South Lake Tahoe. I figure if you are up for Friday, check out Saturday morning, and ride with us to 108.
Poprock,
We will be going back up the coast starting Sunday. If you want to ride up that way,( I.E., you have the time off through Tuesday) let me know. I will need to try and get one more room in Mill Valley and Eureka. PM me if you want me to see about one more room at each stop.Ray Matteis

Well,
E liberty just may make it!! He is without power at the moment, so he can't log in himself. He asked me to check on a "spare" bed for him. So if someone isn't sure, and has a spot for Saturday night, Keep him in mind. He will try and make it up to S.L.T. for breakfast, and then the ride. If all else fails, he can sleep on the floor in one of the rooms.
See everyone Saturday morning, if not before!Ray Matteis

Hey guys, where is Kennedy Meadows on 108 West? I might be able to "do lunch" with the crowd, although I can't spend the night. Reply or call 559-288-1823 with a location and time."Time is the greatest teacher; unfortunately, it kills all of its students."

I agree
What Mason said. Great rally, good attendance, good times all around EXCEPT the brutal ride home. Had a couple of heat related attacks in the desert and had to spend some time in an air conditioned jiffy mart and Jack in the box just to make it home. I learned that when you quit sweating in those conditions, get somewhere cool FAST and drink some cool water, slowly.
PS: I did get to check the camera and found that I got the complete Monitor pass ride on video. I also fount that because I couldn't see the camera monitor in the bright light, I have included the windshield vent in the lower left.....Last edited by planedick; 09-03-2007, 12:33 PM.You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

Sorry I missed out at Tahoe
Turned out staying home was wasted time
Did met up with Ray and gang in Dublin, rode along for about eighty miles. Good bunch a guys. Holiday traffic (every day traffic) sucked and was/is exasperated this weekend by the closing of the Bay bridge. Normal day about 250, 000 cars use it.
Flat out have a problem with remembering names but I met seven XSives and one Harley rider. All pretty cool guys. We went from Dublin over the hill to the Bay Area proper, stopped for fuel in Hayward then rode south on HY 880 to 84 and across the Dunbarten bridge to the east side of the Bay. Ray led the way thru Palo Alto/Menlo Park area and up in the coastal/bay hills to a late lunch at Alice's Restaurant. Ray and Cody ate a Yamaha Burger, which true to Jap style turned out to be chicken...
After, E. Liberty went south (Homeward bound) and we headed north along Sky Line Blvd to HY 92, ran into some Holiday traffic and stopped at two "Scenic over looks" which the trees have grown enough that some of the best views are blocked now. At several points along Sky Line you can look east and see the Bay and then look west and see the Pacific ocean off in the distance, pretty cool. At HY 92 traffic sucked again and I parted company. Had wanted to go west to Half Moon Bay but when I looked down the hill could see cages backed up and stopped on the road. Traffic was so bad going east down the hill to the freeway on 92 that I shut down the specials engine and just coasted following the cages to the bottom. Once on the freeway traffic was moving fine all the way home. Ray and gang were to head to San Francisco and across the Golden Gate and eventually wind up in Mill Valley for the night. Have had experience riding these places during the week and traffic can be a problem at times, not to interested in trying it on a weekend and a holiday weekend could be .....

Had a great time meeting some new XSives. Had the morning sun in the eyes going to Tahoe and setting sun in the eyes on the way home. Left at 5:30 am and got home a little after 7 pm.
Wife was upset that she missed Virginia City again (she thinks she's a cowboy). Bought her a western shirt so that softened her pain. I told her to come next time, her Virago runs just fine.
I hope to be around for next years shindig.Pat Kelly
