    Cabin???? Wussy .
I plan on tenting it. I know the site says one vehicle per campsite but how strict are they on that? I'd think 2-3 tent per site with the 2-3 bikes.
We should be grouped-together, probably away from normal people.

Is there a plan other than riding there, sitting and yakking all night, then riding home the next day? I'm good with that, just wondering.

      Cabins...

Cabin might be a good plan. Middle of April might be mighty cool at night and days too for that matter. Do those cabins have heat? I can't do the middle of April anyway. SWMBO won't be back from her trip by then. If you do it then I will have to do my Spring run alone anyway.

I can tent it. Count me in for one. We need to have mro and some of the "local" bay area members try to make it as well.

            My basic plan is:
Friday: People show up when they can, we set up camp, I'll BBQ burgers and dogs, we'll swap lies and check out bikes until we're worn down. Late guys will have people there to see them into the fold.

Saturday: I'll cook breakfast in camp, we'll ride around the Gold Country, then find a place for lunch, we'll ride through Yosemite and then BBQ tri-tip at camp. Then more BS by the fire, and the traditional fireside toast to the XSives.

Sunday: Pancake breakfast in camp, break down camp as each needs, and we'll decide on a ride and route that suits as many as possible.

The real question to answer is how many will be there and do we make a group ressie or do it on our own? I'll call KOA and see if they have a suggestion, but I need some number, at least a 5-10, or 10-15, or some such. Not a rock-hard commitment, but an "I'll be there", "I'm pretty sure I'll be there" sort of thing.

My wife will drive my Suburban to haul the supplies and chairs and such, and she prefers the Kampin Kabin. Plus, we'll need some sort of secure area for the supplies. My wife has been ill, but should be good for a Saturday XS ride, then she can drive the Sub back to Fresno on Sunday.

I'm trying out my philosophy that a rally should be about the meeting rather than about the riding. Spending three days grinding it out on twisted roads is more wearing than relaxing, and meeting you guys is the point. There will be a common area with a fire that we can all enjoy. If wives come but don't want to ride, there will be a relaxing place to hang out for the day. There's fishing on a private pond, and I'll bring equipment to lend. It isn't so remote that we couldn't head to a tavern somewhere and relax further, or augment our supplies as needed.

            Who's in?

                Just to be clear:
                Avg High= 75
                Avg Low = 43

                Not a negative 43!

Now to decide which way I want to ride up there? Several choices, all fun.

April 14th eh? I may be able to make it. My daughter may be coming home from college for the summer around then, so I don't know if I'll have Daddy Duty, but it sounds doable.
Ray and I will probably ride up together to represent the Santa Cruz County Chapter.

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"

                      "check out bikes"???
                      Will show if I can.

Have the kinda screwed life style that makes it difficult to plan more than a few days ahead.

I just got back from checking-out the campgrounds.
LoHo made reservation for cabin #4. I'm making a reservation for tent site #78, right next to LoHo. Tent site #79 & 80 are all next to each other with #75 across the path.
There's a posability that my family might come too so we'd pitch our circus tent. If they don't then how about splitting a site? They said it's ok to double-up on the spaces.
A tent site with no utilities is $33. There's a small store at the campground.

I'll work on getting the Katter trio together. If it works out, the three of us will split a lodge. Looks like the Kabins aren't avail. If my count is right, that makes 9 or 10 possibly total, right?

So I have space #79, Friday and Saturday. I think E.Liberty will probably want to share the space. Depending on how tight they are, we can probably put one more bike between space 78 and 79.

Uncle Spot is already packed and ready to go. We're in #78.
I'm painting my 6.5 gal tank so I may not need to refill all weekend. On my trip there Fri my bike milage jumpped from 32 MPG to 41MPG. At that rate I could go 265 miles between fill-ups.
I had to remind myself (and the family) that this trip is for me to get away from them. We'll come back another time as a family to terrorize the wildlife.

Ray and I went for a little putt today. I pulled out ye old map and we perused it over a couple of brewskies. Ya sure, looks like fun by golly! I like your philosophy Loho. That 300 + mile group ride over 3 mntn. Passes in (what was it?) 10 hours, with 2 riders down, at the first Tahoe Rally was great for bragging rights, but it was a bit much. I look forward to schmoozing and swapping lies with everyone, and finally getting to meet you, Loho!
