I never said anything bad about cheap beers in general, just PBR. I have drank more Keystone Light w/ Clamato in it than I care to admit. The problem however is that cheap beer really isn't any cheaper at all when it is measure by its percent KEY ingredient, booze. A six pack of high end micro runs me about 7-8 buck and runs about 7+%. A 12er of keystone runs me around $5 and has probably 3-4%. The moral is, drink better beer, pay LESS money, enjoy it, and get the same effect.

              YES!!

              Thanks Wayne!

Yes, it's true that more expensive beer has more alcohol, but I would rather drink a few more, pee a couple times and carry on a coherint conversation with the people I'm drinking with. I stick to Jager when I just want to get it over with quick.

Stroh's as a parent company, and label itself, was sold/dissolved in '99 or 2000, but I think it's still made (Pabst bought them, IIRC). I had PBR and an Old Style this past weekend on a trip up to the UP. The Old Style was w/ a pickled egg in a bar in the middle of nowhere. It was great.

Question: Are there any other places in the country where people eat pickled eggs?

They are popular in Maine. I luv 'em! Does Heilemans still brew Special Export? I really liked that one. Old Style (dog pile, we called it when I lived in Chicago) was ok. There was a west coast beer that I used to drink when I was in San Diego called Henry Weinhart's Private Reserve. Do any of you PNW guys know if it is still brewed?

John, They still brew and sell it! I can get it at almost any store here in Central CA. I like dark beer, so I usually go for an Old Rasputin from the North Coast Brewing Co. It's a nice 9% brew, so I usually drink just one.

Yeah, but at 6-8 bucks for a 6 pack.. it just gives me a good excuse for a road trip on the bike! lol. Plus... sometimes I like just plain ol' Bud Light.. and they don't have that.
