hmm ok .. well i have tried that .. Thank you..

its coming along but boy does it take a long time .. i wish i could ride it right now. its so tough doing a project like this when i have no equipment and no assistance. We have BMC choppers here in bend and they just dont deal with anything "out of the box"
I get laughed at by other cycle shops and get that deer in the headlights look.
I head to harley for odd parts and custom stuff and get the same BS on how
it cannot be done etc etc. I find myslef hearing "why" or " its not possible" or a bunch of other excuses for people turning the work down that i want to do on this bike.

crap load of time spent modifying it = Priceless
My bike has the XS motor but can't really call it XS11
(or at least it still looks like the XS motor)
it has about 50% of the frame left from the XS bike

      stevestrom! i like your stripe!

you are a man after my own heart. though I was cussing when I was taping as trying to mask an even, straight stripe is harder than it looks!

      nice work.

It was from a 883 sportster. Notice the front is more square than triangle shaped. I picked up one that kind of came up to a point (triangle) and it didn't work very well at all. Pick your seat wisely....it may not work.
You have to cut out some of the front of the pan.

see what I'm talking about. The point. I messed with that one for a while, it never did work.

                            I washed mine, finally!

Took a while to get the accumulated bugs and grime off but it came up nice!

I then activated my bike's anti theft system.
