Jim, yep it's a Yamaha sissy bar. I've seen a number of them used alone. The back feels quite solid, though I don't know what's inside there. You make a good point however.
I use the sissy bar to toss a backpack on, among other things. The seat is comfy.

D0wn5h1ft. It's a Maier fairing from JC Whitney.

Marty, ya beat me by a minute..

Marty, are you certain it is the large version of the of the Maier fairing as they offer two sizes with one being wider?
Dean, have you ever put a price on the seat yet, might increase your odds of selling it or not.

I really don't have a clue which one it is. If you read the descriptions on the Maier site, they are the same.

When I got that fairing, maybe 7 or 8 years ago, they sold two versions. One for the round headlight and another for the square one.

Yep, tell me about Ben! Took it up and down my road a few times the other day. Still a beast!

Takes a while for no. 2 cylinder to get going. Pilot circuit from what I gather here. I've never cleaned the carbs. Maybe a winter project.

Sure wish the header pipes looked nicer though. I have a VERY nice stock exhaust sitting here in the house. Maybe I'll try it out someday. From an SH, but I believe it will slip right on the SG.

I got lucky Brant...the very first XS rally I attended was XS East in Stroudsburg PA in 2008 and that was the first I met Dean and the only time I have seen Dean bring his XS to a rally...I seem to recall everyone voting it the best XS there....I credit Dean for turning me on to this website in 2007...Thanks Dean

A 1980 Midnight Special is a XS1100LG, not SG. The seats interchange, so Dean's seat will fit whether it's an SG or LG.
