I have a new xs1100 head gasket. Anyone can tell me whether or not I could use that head gasket and cut the portion for the YICS ports out of hi-temp gasket material?

Good time to do away with the YICS. Find a way to plug those ports. I would.

You wouldn't want to leave a real YICS tool in there as the rubber isolator bits would melt and whole thing would fall out. That would be quite a waste of money. You can leave the YICS eliminator device which is basically just a solid rod.

Sorry... I forgot that there are other tools besides the YICS eliminator. The eliminiator is definitely the way to go though. Simple and permanent.

Look for some post by TRBig, he has an XJ and found a different way to seal off those ports permanently. See post number nine in THIS thread. If the head is already off the bike, this seems like a fairly simple, effective way to eliminate the YICS.

That's who I wound up buying from. But even with it installed, I'll still have to figure out a way to plug the head ports. A Gasket was my original problem and the Yahman tool doesn't solve that portion yet.
I saw in another thread and linked here as well about allen head set screws in the ports. Probably run that route for now.

No, that's the one I was referring to in the beginning. I had forgotten that there is ANOTHER tool that is meant to be removed.
