Before you jump off a bridge, or spend a whole lot of buck$ on a replacement, be sure to read over Randy's post here

Your problem might be a simple as a cold solder joint that you can fix in about two minutes with a small soldering iron.

XJ TCI is different from XS TCI's

Having 5 good XJ ones be worth a few bucks.

          jackjet,
do you still have the TCI's and are they for an xj or an xs. I could also use an xj tci.

That TCI will not swap to a stock XJ. It is for an XS, '78-'80. '81 and up used a TCI that has advance built into the box and the XJ also added a vacuum actuated boost sensor connected to the TCI.

This TCI will run the engine, but it will run poorly.

Jacket, have your TCI's been tested and how much $$ do you want for one?
