    Ray,
Scoped out the burn area yesterday... Most of it is in the back country. The houses that burned are off the beaten path too.
I don't think you'll be seeing much of it, fortunately. From my parents place you can see up on the hill where they set a back-fire about a half mile away though.
In other news, replaced my bad coil and front tire. Shop screwed up the balancing and now a fork seal is shot

      Thanks, Matt.
I'm looking forward to the ride. I was thinking Saturday ride, over to 88, and then over Monitor pass, and up 395 into Reno, and then home. Sunday I'll be leaving early with Cody and Miles, so I thought maybe a quick trip into whats left of Harra's Car Museum. That would be about one hour to ride there, and about two hours to walk through it. We could then grab lunch, and those left can ride up through Virginia city, or someplace you know, and I'll head back to the coast with Cody and Miles.
I will be getting up sometime on Friday, probably about 3:00pm

        Ray

We should roll into Tahoe about same time. It's 346 miles from Ely to Tahoe. We'll be leaving Ely about 11 am and should be in Tahoe about 2:30..................at this speed.........

PS: This was shot before the FD Mod.

That speed works on that stretch of 50, but I think the last 50 miles may slow you down a bit!!

Can I get a quick count of who will need a room for the Rally? I will call the Motel 6 this week, and book the number of rooms we need. Please PM me, or just shout out here, and I'll get a count, and nights.
I know I'll need Friday and Saturday, but will be going Sunday afternoon with Cody and Miles to ride the coast. Rooms if booked now are about $85 to $95 a night, with one or two beds. I know I need the $95, with the refrigerator, for my meds.
If you want, give me a call on my cell, 831-234-8721

Two rooms are reserved for Friday and Saturday night. If anyone else wants to reserve a room, call the motel 6 at 530-542-1400, and select option 3 to talk with the front desk. Tell them you are part of the Matteis party, and need another room. I had them try and put the rooms together, on the ground floor.
So far, Cody, Miles, Bret, and myself are staying in South Lake Tahoe.

Count me in, but I don't need a room. I live down in Carson so I can just jet up whenever. I just hope I can get my transmission and carbs fixed by then...

looks like I'll be the only one from my clan. Dad(Paul) will visit for breakfast Sunday. My brother(Tim) really wants to be there, especially since we did all that work on his midnight. But I don't see how he'll be able to.

If I know when Y'all are heading westward and where I'd like to link-up for a bit (if I get a new back tire).
I'm still unemployed, but starting a vocational school (career lane-change again) so I may have the weekend off.

                        Matthew,

Tell little Timmy to send his Midnight up. We don't need no stinking bread man to show us how to ride. I'm sure we can find some one that would gladly give his Eleven a good workout!

On Sunday, what route are Y'all taking to head west? I can link-up and ride along for the one day.

                                Pat,
I was thinking the superslab from Reno to Mill Valley. I can change the route, and go from S.L.T. to Mill Valley Via 50, or 89 to 88 to ??? Main thing is over the Bay Bridge, stop at Angel Island for a photo op, and on through the City and across the Golden Gate for a second photo op.
I did get a call from Mr. Shumway(sp?), and he will be riding up from the LA area! His plan is 395 all the way up, after a jog though Yosemite. He wants do go through the pass, as he's not been that route before.
My cell is 831-234-8721 for anyone else that may want to join in!!
