Keep this place in mind. There's tent camping, RV sites and cabins on site along with a very up to date shower house, laundry room with leather drying cabinets, a pavilion, tire changing stand, bench vice, air compressor and even beer available right on site. The couple who own it are great folks, it's one of my favorite places to stay.

Yep, Smitty's is certainly a very good place to stay when riding these fantastic TN, NC, SC, GA mountain roads.

Problem for our SE Rally is Smitty's is way too small a venue to accommodate our 50-60+ Rally riders that come to ride these roads.
RV & Tent would be covered but sadly Smitty's is about 30+ short on Cabin beds. Smitty's is a favorite of mine too.

Guess I didn't realize it was that large a crowd. When I was at Smitty's last November he had just added another four cabins and there's always been plenty of room for camping. Somehow I see a motel in their future!

Your XS11 ready to ride for 2024? Hopefully we can have another good showing of XS11's at this years 2024 SE Rally.
I recall the most ever was 26 XS1100's which was quite amazing to see & hear.

Many of the 2023 Rally attendees booked their cabins when they checked out last September.
But if you didn't or are interested in attending the Rally be sure to make a room reservation.

Iron Horse has NEW contact information:

            Their NEW phone # is (336) 496-0622

Their NEW email address is: information@ironhorsenc.com

            Their website is still: www.ironhorsenc.com

So if you have existing reservations or need to contact Iron Horse to make reservations use the new. FYI, their old number and email no longer work. Their I-H website still has the old info so hopefully they will update their website soon.

We have updated www.vintageyamaharally.com with the new info.
Rally runs Thursday September 26th to Monday September 30th so you can join the day Rides as your schedule allows.

                Approaching 100 Days To Go.

Kurt is working up a Rally Shirt design. We plan to have this years rally shirt Shopping Cart opened by the end of June or after July 4th
so you can see the 2024 Shirt and Order one if you would like one (or two). (on the website)

So with the clock ticking and 100 Days out it is a good time to make your Travel Reservations and book a cabin or rv or tent spot
at Iron Horse. Late September through October is peak riding in the Smoky Mountains and Iron Horse books up quickly.
As many riders show up on Thursday we have daily Rally Rides Thursday through Sunday.

Also, for those of you that have given us a heads up by RSVP on the website vintageyamaharally.com THANK YOU as
that helps us in Planning the for Rally

                  Shirt Design Idea for 2024....
Still a work in progress but.....

The team has tossed a couple color ideas around but nothing definite on color yet. Front will be the usual Vintage Yamaha Rally Logo with Date.

                  Thoughts?

                    That looks great ..................

got about 600+ miles of great technical Rally Riding just on the Classics shown.

No maps or GPS's required. Just follow the shirt map. No excuse for anybody getting lost this Rally.

Arriving Iron Horse on Thursday Sept 26th so I can join one of the Friday Rides -and- avoid the nasty Friday traffic out of Atlanta.

Been doing 'other things' so i guess it is about time to roll out an 11 and get it Rally Ready.

ps. got another month to get in your Shirt Order if you want a Shirt. I just Ordered mine.

Jeff: Looking forward to seeing you this year!!!!!!!

Nick and I are arriving Wednesday. Now that we are retired, we added an extra day to make the long trip more worthwhile.

Louann and I are moving on Thursday. Then we have my family reunion in South Haven, MI Sept 6-13. It's gonna be a rocket sled for the next 6 weeks.

For the rally, I'll have to pick whichever bike has good tires. No chance to doll one up.

Quick ride over to see Brent the other day. He is doing well.
Brent booked a Cabin at Iron Horse so he will be attending the Rally this year.

Talked with Tallahassee Don yesterday. He has booked a room and will be attending.

Both Brent and Don (me too) are looking forward to seeing everyone soon.

Here is your Two Week reminder buzzer if you are planning to Order a 2024 Rally Shirt, but haven't yet.

Kurt will be putting in the Shirt Order on Monday September 9th.

Next weekend will be Labor Day weekend so the countdown to September is rapidly approaching.
                              Be Rally Time soon.
