Hey Bill Woods!
Bill, and Rob, et al.
I'm very interested in hitting this rally.
And Bill, since you'd be coming through Cincinnati,
I'd be happy to join up with you. Up for either
riding or trailering down. Give me a shout if you're
interested.
Rob, interested in having any additional carb tools?
HAve a ColorTune and the CarbTune(?) sync tool with
the steel bars instead of mercury. HAve the merc sticks too.
A guy can't have too many tools, eh?
Let me know, happy to help.
Paul

Bring the color tune. I have never seen one yet. and the non merc guages would help as I would prefer not to bring my merc sticks and let them spill.
If I can count on you for them then let me know, but please let me know if you cant make it or bring them. I will count on you for them.Robert Reil

2 Cabins left
I just made my reservations at the campground www.blueridgemotorcyclecamp.com and they now have 2 more cabins available for 10/18-19 - both have two twin beds. Can't decide about riding or trucking(with bike in bed) to NC.
See all of you there either way.Bill Murrin

Can't decide about riding or trucking?
For me it is much more about RIDING. Enjoy the trip to the rally riding. You may have a wonderful ride report. (ever read an interesting drive truck/haul bike report?)
unsolisited advice- Be good to yourself. get bike into good road worthy condition. Allow enough time to make an enjoyable ride. Get resources, ride partner, XSive help list. AMA tow contract, cell phone. cash, credit card, tools etc. or some of it in place. It is a great big beautiful world out there

Radios tested
Mike Jones (75XS650B), Steve Warren (preXS11owner and now Magna), and I (80XS850G) went out for a classic bike ride from Marietta, Ga and down to Carrolton Ga, for some VERY nice sweeping country roads.
We tested out the radio sets for the Expert group and decided that we 3 or atleast Mike and I would head up to NC for a road scouting trip in September. Any area scouts want to come along?
About 45 days left to the rally! Looking forward to seeing you all.
Remember if you are even thinking about going to this rally join the atlanta based list at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/atlcla...ikeriders/join and please post info in the database link and in the polls link. We need your imput to put on a great first event!Robert Reil

ESP!
Wish I had found out about this much sooner.
I live roughly 3 hours away from the NC camp ground ya'll are going to be at this weekend in Columbia SC.
I will be there in spirit!
I have been wanting to plan a trip to Deals Gap, NC to ride "The Dragon" (318 turns in 11 miles of roadway). Would anyone from the surrounding states be interested? I figure I'm about 4-5 hours from there.
Will there be another southeast XS rally anytime soon, or is it going to get too cold for everyone? I really do wish I had found out about this sooner. I've been part of the XS list since '96 or so (under various email address's) and have the upmost respect for all that are on the list. A few of you have really come through for me in times of need.
I was recently in Cherokee, NC for the Cherokee Survivors Fall Rally and fell in love with the area. It reminded me so much of northern NJ (where I grew up and did tons of riding) that I almost didn't want to leave.
Ride safe, and keep the rubber side down.

Classic yahama rallie
Rally in NC at blueridgemotorcyclecamp was / is great. I believe Gary and Ken are still on the mountain roads by day and beside the streams and lakes near the campfire at night. Yes they did have some neat dragon designs and big grins. It is a great big beautiful world out there
