            SUNDAY UPDATE:

Although a few people had to leave early in the day. Quite a large contingent of riders went on LONG rides. The two large groups were headed by Mark Lew and another by Rob Bergman. Both groups went to Franklin down through Cashiers, up to the Blue Ridge and back .

The Blue Ridge was not cooperative with drizzle and heavy fog. Here, Mike is putting on his "Painter's Pants" - LOL

The group got broken up and some of us got lost (Mike gets the Challenged Leader Award NEXT YEAR).

                    Back in Atlanta

GREAT RALLY, it was a Ton-of-Fun
This year we had a lot of new Vint Yama attendees. Even had some two stroke bikes like RD-250, RD-350 & RD-400 etc. Great to hear those motors sing ...............

Sadly, we missed all our friends and riders from Canada & New York & Massachusetts etc. that couldn't travel to NC due to border closures or various restrictions as well as others that were unable to attend because of the virus risks. Next Year ................ its the 20th Annual. Hope we can all be together once again.

Good trip back home via Andrews, Hayesville, Hiawassee, Helen & Clermont. Bonus was a nice sporty run over the mountain on GA75 into Helen.

Took a break stop at the Olympic Rowing venue on GA284 at Lake Lanier

I took some pictures at the Rally that I will get posted this afternoon.
We will also get some Pics and maybe a Vid or two posted on the GALLERY section of vintageyamaharally.com website

Hi Jeff - your 78E looks good all loaded up with a tank bag, and no fairing ! Knowing how you do a lot of distance riding, I wondered how you are finding it without the big fairing?

                        Hey Brian,

#1, we sure missed you guys & gals at the Rally .........................

No this is BWI (Bee-Wee) the Baltimore E.
SDF the Louisville Pacifico E sat at home for this years Rally. SDF has the Pacifico fairing and hard bags like always. Rode SDF at last years rally.
Now with Rally over I can finish up GRR the Grand Rapids Michigan E. Been working on it (GRR) all year. 1st start was 3 weeks ago. Thankfully it runs and seems fine. Only 9,000 miles but sat for at least 15 years. In the pile of junk I got Vetter hard bags for that bike. And bought a Quicksilver fairing from Duwayne at the Rally so GRR will have fairing & hard bags too.

                        3 E's

So how do I find going naked? As an LD rider naked is not my thing. BWI good, no great for warm weather, no bugs or cold or rain and at slower speeds.
Not so good for higher speeds for long distances or dodgy weather.

                        Jeff

Anybody get stuck behind one of these during the Rally?

It sure is frustrating when it happens.

Part of the problem is that it is missing any rearview mirrors, oblivious to what's behind.
