  • Bob Jones Memorial Rally-from the wife

I put a note on page five of the original Bob Jones Rally thread. After doing so, it appeared to me that the conversation was getting away from the original question and no one might see mine... so I am starting this new thread. I have copied/pasted my note from it: (I also fixed my spelling)

If you want to make the Bob Jones memorial rally what it is also about-a Memorial to talk about the man, his favorite motorcycle and trips of his/your own; I will do this (if anyone is interested). I will open my home for a huge party in Bob's honor. A chance for everyone to see his "Real Monster garage" he built for his beloved motorcycles. The garage is currently full of completed and salvage motorcycles; so it will give you the chance to look through all his 20-25 years collection. A collection of XS11 parts he bought to keep his dream alive and keep the best bike on the road forever.
Yes, I might have monetary interest in such a party. But I am the one left with three garages full of motorcycle parts that need to be sold or given away.
This will give all a chance for a ride to Merriam, KS. a suburb of Kansas City. And if you want to schedule rides from here, Russ or Bohn can surely plan some interesting locations. Not as exciting as Bob's favorite roads in Arkansas, but much safer.
    It's just a thought.

    Karla,

I believe there will be a lot of people who would love to make the ride, myself included. I would like for it to be around labor day, give or take a couple of weeks, but would be open to anything.

    Thanks for the chance.

I wold really like to see Bob's work in person and talk to the people that knew him best. Once a date is set, I will try to make it.

      Thanks

            *Sigh....

Ivan and I will be headed to XS East in PA that weekend, (Memorial Day) and the Illinois rally is the weekend before this.

But like I said.. whatever works for most.

I would never pick a date that Tod could not make. He's done too much for me. Tod, tell me what you have available and we'll go from there. karkj

LOL... It's OK, Karla. Thank you though. Unlike most, when I'm in town, I can always stop in and poke through your stuff.

Now THAT didn't quite sound right, did it!? lol.

Whatever date is good for the most. A big turnout is what's important.

I would suggest picking a few dates that it works for you Karla and make a poll to see which one gets the most turnout. If you need help, I'm sure Tod knows how to make a poll, I haven't ventured there yet.

                      Hey, Karla...
Didn't know if you caught my response in your other thread you posted, but count me in please!

Looking forward to meeting you, and I'll try to drag 'ole Cody with me as well.
Mentioned it to him last night.
We might get Denice to come along, too.

His schedule's a little tighter than mine is... but I agree... just post what works best for you, and we'll go from there.

                      Looking forward to this one.
Take care, and hope to see you soon.

                        Poll for date

OK, I talked to Bohn. We decided on two dates. Please vote the best one for you. May 15th or June 5th.
