TH CVMG guys have some really old bikes. The Xs would be at the more recent end of their scale. While I have not attended the London event I am sure it will have lots of neat stuff to look at.

True, some real antiques, but there is a fair share of bikes from the same era as ours. I don't feel out of place there with my '78E.

Good one Brian. I see your 78E was not the only XS at the event. The Special has the Spaghetti exhaust which I think looks really cool.
Your fairing may be the fastest most aerodynamic but it looks HUGE
Thanks for representing the XSives at the London Rally.

                Bonus pictures

The week before this rally, one of the members (Terry)hosted a preview of some display items at his shop 'Wolfe Worx'

                Here are some photos

The Land speed record breaking gas powered bike

                Check out the "periscope"

The guy who drove it was a rather large human to be getting in there

THen there was this drag bike - the engineering on it was really cool. Apparently 1000 hp from a 1000cc motor

And outside were memberrs bikes. Here's a nicely modded XS by Chapter member Albert (who also works at Wolfe's)

....with a little devil for extra boost!

                  Pics

Thanks for posting the extra pics, Brian.

That looks like a Kawasaki KZ engine in the drag bike.

                  -------------------------------------------------------------

As for the modded Special ...

I've never been a fan of paint jobs involving flames ... other than that, it's a really sharp-looking and tastefully done bike.

                    Those are really good!

The XS is a mighty fine piece of work but as you can see on the street, the only time it's 'safe' to run the engine with those nifty unfiltered carb' stacks is when it's raining.

That record-setting bike owes some props to the Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobile and the stainless steel seat pan looks like it would be uncomfortable after a only couple of hundred miles ... per hour.

The drag bike is a testament to billet, it looks like even the billet has been cut from billet.
