Have Ralf and Rochelle made it home yet?
Haven't seen a post from Jerry yet either?
Ralph and Rochelle are here in Port Perry. We will be attending Ken's funeral on Friday. We are both pall bearers for him. They will be heading back Saturday.

Anyone who has organized one of these events can vouch for the amount of work that goes into it. I'm so sorry Kenny never got a chance to see the fruits of his labour. The fact that it was such a success is a testement to the amount of time and effort that went into it. I want to thank YOU Wayne for stepping up on Kens behalf to ensure that all his planning was expedited. Your a first class act Wayne, and I'm proud to call you a friend!
Thanks Grant for the kind words. Yes, Ken would have been proud. The Rally's are only a success thanks to the people who attend and make it successful. I would like to extend a heart felt thank you to all who attend this years XSNorth 2014.

If you need it, my trailer is available Wayne. My truck too if you need it.
I've been in a reflective mood all day thinking about Ken and his family and his XS friends. It sure is comforting to know that people care. I feel so bad for his family and I hope they handled today as best the could. At least knowing that Ken was loved by many. I am especially touched by the situation and how Wayne is coping. Ralph & Rochelle staying over to provide support and friendship is just stellar. All such a great bunch of people.
As for me, I rode my trusty XS11E some 376 miles on Wednesday from Western NY to Washington Court House in Ohio. Main route was US 62. A lot of very scenic Amish country. Lots of horse & buggy traffic on the highway. Bicycles too. I was surprised how scenic it was. The variety across US 62 in Ohio is amazing. (if you haven't ridden it I would highly recommend it if you have a couple days to poke around)
I rode 363 miles today taking a bunch of back roads. Actually got into some real obscure back roads. Now I am only 230 miles from home but I decided to stop overnight in Townsend TN. In the AM I'll ride Foothills Parkway and the Dragon and maybe see jetmech for lunch before doing the last 45 miles back to Atlanta.
It looks like my XS North ride will be 2,807 miles. The ol 78' 11E worked pretty good. No tools required. Did some weird stuff but don't they always?? Bought a bunch of gas and got 39 mpg no matter what. Ran 3 tanks of Non-Ethanol (Ethanol Free) and got same 39 mpg. I made no difference. crap gas, non-eth, shell, mobile, bp, marathon, no name it was all 39 mpg. Only thing that gave the motor more 'pop' was the 200 ft above sea level vs 2,000 ft above. More pop but still 39 mpg.
Ride was very good and the rally was very good. Very emotional that Ken was not with us to enjoy it. I hope his friends and family can deal with their emotions over the weeks and months and years to come.
Take care,
Jeff

Home safe and sound last night. As I think about the weekend it was a good rally.
It is truly a shame that Ken put so much work in to it could not enjoy the fruits of his labour. It is with a heavy heart I can't tell him personally thank you.
God speed Ken enjoy that ride in the sky!

Cat and I got home this afternoon after an extended tour around the province with Tom and Pam.
XS North 2014 was a great rally and a credit to Ken's meticulous planning and attention to detail.

I'm glad everyone got home safe from this years XSNorth 2014. I'm glad that it turned out successful after the tragedy of losing Ken. I would also like to thank Marty for running the routes that Ken had planned. If I have forgotten to thank anybody else personally who helped out, I apologise.
It's the people who make rallies a success.
Thank you to all who attended.
Ken would have been proud of all his hard work and efforts.

Ok the last of the wandering kids has made it home. Had a good stay with Wayne an Maggie. Even if it was marked with saddnes there was a nice show of support for Kens familyat the funeral. I also want to say a special thanks to all who offered to help get Rochelle home either with a trailer Gary G. and Mack to Gary C. An his offer to ride the bike a let her drive his car. We are very thankful to all of you all. The rally was a great succes an a tribute to Kens planning.
Arrived home this past Sunday. 5,122 miles total on the Concours. Will be putting up some photos after I have a chance to go through them. (I took the long way home through Wisconsin and visited family and friends which accounts for the July 6th return home.) Even have some video but have not even looked at it yet.
Had a good time. Always nice to see old friends and meet new ones. Pizza Hut serves beer and wine, who knew?
Stopped by Niagara Falls on the way home, made up for having to drive through Toronto at rush hour on the way to the rally.
I've started a series of posts about the entire ride on my blog page, http://www.appleattic.net/blog and first post features Roger, Earl and me visiting Ft. Henry. If anyone is interested take a look.
Glad I went, glad to be home.
